watched a bunch of those “recent steam game roundup” trailers and they’re mostly selecting for blandness but i was a bit taken by this one about sigmund freud being possessed by an egyptian relic… i like that freud’s internal monologue has a shadowman 64 hissy voice effect and the way he spits the word “perverts”

it’s cool they’re doing 8 in VR after 7 in VR was maybe one of the most underrated big budget games of last generation, but honestly a) a little late and b) it takes itself so much less seriously that I don’t think it matters nearly as much
it rules that they’re still working on no man’s sky though
strange to say this but I’m not sure that Italians should get to claim Freud. I guess it depends what happens with Natasha Lyonne’s Columbo. gotta play it by ear
FFXVI looks fun, they’re going with, like, espers as warring gods on top of a semi-generic low fantasy setting with a somewhat more involved action battle system than the last couple? I think that mostly checks out. it always looks like it’s missing actual final fantasy characters whenever they show it off and it’s conspicuously late to the low fantasy trend, but I’m sure they can juice it enough to make it work
