I’m thinking of the second-hand stores that are gonna have two thirds of their inventory go poof the second those servers go off… if I were them I wouldn’t even bother with accepting game key card trade-ins

I’m not too worried. The servers for downloading digital Wii purchases are still up. The servers for the Switch eShop aren’t going to go away for at least 20+ years, barring a massive global catastrophe. You may no longer be able to buy things then but you’ll still be able to download your purchases.
The only reason Nintendo (and anyone else) kills old shops is payment processors. They can’t afford to keep updating the backend to support credit cards’ security standards.

i already had extreme reservations about the OFF remake and the intentions behind it but am i wrong for genuinely being kind of disgusted that they’re literally putting undertale motifs in the soundtrack?? if it somehow wasn’t intentional it comes off as magnificent hackery… man fangamer creeps me out

I was just thinking of playing the cracked vanguard campaign the other day to see the terrible plane level that drove jed insane
call of duty games are specifically called out by the BDS movement to be uninstalled and boycotted
Uninstall & boycott key games owned by the company such as Minecraft, Call of Duty, Candy Crush, etc.

This is good news but also the recent gamer linguistic tic of saying a game “has been preserved” drives me bananas, lol. Preservation is an ongoing process, not something where you rip a CD and call it a day. One of those things I go full pedant on. I also hate it when people use “archival” as a noun, like “ok, let’s hire someone to do archival”. It’s a sign of progress that people care about this stuff but also I hate all language and everyone who speaks it!!!
