I do not know how to make these links work >_>
So what’s this then. MS anointing Battle.net, or at least its infrastructure, as a speartip of their attempted charge against Steam?
Is this the beginning of a pivot away from the Xbox game store? Or was the prep work already done by the time MS bought them?
This was my thought as well.
Just let Jeff go wild on the atari catalog already.
Activision had tried to make CoD battle.net exclusive but it didn’t go terribly well. But something of an idea involving the platform existed.
Here, I don’t really know what the idea is. These are the platform options when you go to pre-order Avowed on the Xbox site:
“Windows 10/11”, “Battle.net”, “Steam.”
Which is already like…the fuck are we doing?
So Windows 10/11 must mean the Microsoft Store, which they own and control. And they own and control Battle.net. But the cross-purchase benefit applies to Xbox+Battle.net and not Xbox+Microsoft Store.
And furthermore the cross-purchase benefit is only mentioned if you’re buying on the Battle.net website itself. You get it if you’re buying the Xbox version, but if you’re buying it on the Xbox website it isn’t mentioned anywhere.
I think MS are coming at Valve but after watching them the last several years I don’t think they can make a plan that makes sense.
damn so they’re bringing back both shinobi and ninja gaiden from some of the better 2D teams in the biz right now
Clovers’ going to have to make a Shinobi PS2/Nightshade sequel to keep up with Platinum

The context is we had just suffered Primal Rage 32x and then watched some videos of the arcade version. The arcade version looks great but still plays like Primal Rage (shit.)
Dino Rex is stupid and joyous in comparison. The rampaging bonus stages are hilarious. We were crying laughing at it.
new sonic racing looks like a much more legit inheritor to Transformed than the last one
