as a mental exercise i am imagining being approached in a bar-space and having to draw from my vague knowledge of planescape to describe the context behind a single character or event from the game. i keep getting sent to jail
Arcade Archives has been killing it lately Neuman Atheltics, Final Star Force, Libble Labble and this week:
MERUHEN MAZE. Never thought Iâd see a home port of this outside of 68000.
And Viper Phase One is fixed and can be bought on PS5.
In this scenario how drunk are you?
Asset flips can be good
ABOUT THIS GAME
Deliver the apple to Newtonâs head
An action adventure game where you guide a rolling apple.
Roll through various stages with soothing music, aiming for the top of Newtonâs head.
[Game Objective]
The objective is to prove the law of gravity by controlling the apple and using movement, jumping, and braking to aim for the top of Newtonâs head. However, the apple is fragile, so its durability decreases every time it falls. When it runs out of durability, the game is over.
[Game Features]
Beautiful Stages: Enjoy a pleasant adventure in stages with a fantastical and elegant worldview.
Hidden Items: Attractive golden apples have been placed. When you collect golden applesâŚ
37 minutes of demo footage of Little Devil Inside which you probably donât remember by name but may remember from the visuals â the original trailer came out like 10 years ago
I figured it might resurface at Sonyâs direct next week but damn what a leak
What other Arcade Archives would you recommend?
Centum Silver, because youâre just hitting your stride
Iâm still thinking about how thereâs a whole company for making things that have Dan Houser writing and donât have the GTA / Red Dead gameplay that made people tolerate Dan Houser writing.
There are so many and I think any of them are worth â8 creditsâ as it were
But just a few:
Assault
Dino Rex
Trio The Punch
Metaphorus Force
Psycho Soldier
Dangerous Seed
TETRIS THE GRANDMASTER 2+
Warrior Blade
Need to get the Psycho Soldier one to see if they properly emulate the blown out tiny digitized pop song.
The Macross game is worth getting
The one on the SNK collection does at least.
I feel like i really need to hear the justification for recommending this game in particular
But anyway, seconding the Macross game, and Legend of Valkyrie
The Taito Milestone collections are just compilations of Arcade Archive releases, and the second one has some pretty good ones like Gun Frontier, Metal Black, The Newzealand Story (and Dino Rex)
Which one is it? I cannot find it in the list
