In theory, if you can avoid all the crashes, the game loops at level 255. Video timestamped to where it talks about that:

So now people can go for most loops. ; D

I had 11/11/23 marked in my phone calendar for years.

I’m curious to check this out but I’m skeptical that the cats behind this can be as clever as the original crew.

it’s worth watching this just for how insane it all gets. after reaching a certain level the game starts eating its own allocated RAM so the color pallettes get increasingly broken. some of them are so low contrast that they became roadblocks for runners trying to reach the true kill screen. but if you avoid getting the kill screen and progress all the way to the true final level, there’s no memory left for the color data and the blocks are all one color which happens to blood red. it’s beautiful. we never should have stopped coding so close to the metal. modern games can never glitch to death with such psychedelic brutal elegance.

very funny as I am currently trying to contrive a way to see this play starring Brian Cox as a Eugene O’Neill character confronting his having been a hack

imo you’ve really made it as a performer when you can take any idiotic job for money and not have it hurt you at all

I have to imagine they let him polish his own lines a little, “the third piece of his patricial puzzle” is too purely Brian Cox

I do wonder if he has a softspot for silly game projects every so often

I love this, it’s both borderline 30 rock and totally works at face value if you have no idea who brian cox is

Does “Mishima” make a Japanese audience think “Yukio” the way Americans would go from “Kaczynski” to “Ted”?
