The funny thing is that “play until you die in a room full of pizza and weed” is how I first played Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. We only switched to GTA V after discovering that we’d all become too expert at the combat system to continue playing Fromsoft games like that. We’d go like 30-50 mins without dying and it wasn’t fun anymore. We met every Wednesday and we beat Demon’s Souls in like 6 weeks as a team of three. So we needed a more chaotic game. When we swapped to GTAV we were suddenly all dying instantly again, it was perfect

also it looks good. it’s correct that the tone feels kind of flat. but also, that hasn’t really been part of what has made gta good since the ps2 days. maybe excepting gta IV, like a little, though that game has a whole lot of other stuff going for it. but the humor, “satire”, and edge has gotten progressively screeching and annoying with each release. I will not miss it if it’s muted to the feeling of being absent here.

The most interesting part of the trailer to me is that traffic and pedestrian density looks to be way up now. That’s always felt like the fakest parts of these games because I’m a freak.

yeah its cool games can do crowds now… it was really funny in cyberpunk because the patch I played they broke the crowd density, so everywhere you went was like 75% the same model repeating itself in huge numbers

We did this with pvp in dark souls and when we’d fight the same people back to back to back, I always wondered what their take was when play styles and load outs would be drastically different each time.

I never played the original game ‘properly’ (too crappy a GPU) but I definitely don’t remember giant spinning dollar signs when capping mooks

re:gta NFTs one of the more recent grand theft auto online expansions had you kill a guy trying to make a leaked Dr.Dre song an NFT and the innocence in me read that as rockstar saying that crypto sux. grand theft auto 6 leaks and rumors are their own genre of fiction
