News & Gossip VII: For Blood and Headlines

ahhh i was trying to remember the name of that game, i knew the numpad swordfighting sounded familiar

Jeepers I don’t think I ever knew DbtS had a numpad input mode, I only ever used the flail the mouse around mode. ^ _^

It’s on GOG so…it might not be totally forgotten, I dunno. : D

Made in about a year with a team of about 20 people. Little surprise it turned out the way it did.

Also, check out the DLC:

These are apparently all DIFFERENT exclusive skins.

Is there an equivalent Japanese-English example? The weird recut dub of Nausicaa comes to mind, but I can’t think of games.

My dictionary doesn’t even list “penetration” as a possible translation choice for 攻略, how do you even end up picking that one

The localizer being British does not inspire confidence for such a deeply American Southern work.

I am real curious to see what this looks like.

I don’t know how to explain this but the rayman thing is just how french people are. that’s the kind of schlock they love making. french comic art has always been a bunch of wannabe banksy’s throwing controversial-seeming shit against the wall without any sense of purpose aside from general horniness. I’ve held this sweeping generalization ever since I visited france two decades ago for a few months and I remember seeing bizarre shit like this everywhere in bookstores, and as far as I’m concerned this fully confirms my belief.

anyway, actual cool news for cool people (probably just me, but):

the real question about this remake is if the frame rate boost removed the jank of the original that let you fairly easily clip out of bounds and explore the ambiguously-sanctioned minus world well before you’re supposed to be able to.

That seems to fit Moebius, at least (he seems to be the only one I can think of off the top of my head, such is my cultural ignorance). Now do Belgian comics! : D

flavours of belgian comics, as far as i can tell

-kids having adventures
-serious historical drama
-big concept sci-fi
-kids having adventures but there’s also a lot of sex jokes

i really need to get more belgian comics tbh. but there are so many other comics i want to read! i’ve recently been considering getting into pre-ww2 mickey mouse and popeye. augh!

Segar’s Popeye was the best and Gottfredson’s Mickey is one of the handful of worthwhile works to (undeservedly) bear Disney’s name but the former is much better than the later, everyone should read Popeye
