Mario Wonder looks so good and it makes me happy. I love it. I like all the little expressions and reactions and how Mario poses and how Yoshi gets squished by the elephants. Mario 2 jump. That flower who’s like “feed me your water, daddy” that’s silly that’s fun. It’s good.

Who is doing the voices for all the yips and yaps now that Charlie has been excommunicated?

Mario Wonder looks like the 2D equivalent of Mario Odyssey’s weirdness. I’m into it! Badges should be a good time. The strand-type stuff seems like a fun and well-considered set of pro-social incentives.

I kind of liked the flower asking Mario what Goombas taste like, though it’s very close to the line of, like, try-hard normie-weird. You know what I mean. There are ads all over Boston for a weed delivery service, and they have “High Thoughts” on them that are all some straightedge marketing square’s idea of whimsical:

• “Why is it called a dispensary and not a treehouse?”
• “Why isn’t 11 pronounced ‘oneie-one’? Like ‘twenty-two,’ ‘thirty-three,’ ‘forty-four’…?”
• “If it’s always 5 PM somewhere, it’s also always 4:20 somewhere…”
• “Your car keys travel farther than your car does.”
• “Of all the animals to make into candy, worms were a strange choice.”

It’s a brutal thing to have to see on the morning commute. I really hope this game doesn’t hit that tone.

“What do they taste like?” And variants thereof is a stock joke that I don’t really get in jp media. It is all over light novels. “Friends? Do they taste good?” Is one of the most common gags to indicate that this is 100% a loser who is about to get summoned to a fantasy world. If anyone can figure out the origin of this joke, it will legit make my job easier
