Not gonna bother sharing it here because fuck Microsoft, etc. but the trailer for the new Fable has to be one of the most eerie pieces of AAA marketing that I’ve seen in a while. Maybe it’s just cuz I’ve managed to avoid this kinda stuff for some time but did these things always incorporate footage of development staff spieling lifeless pr jargon all the while smiling through gritted teeth and very clearly under duress? If this is meant to be damage control after all the recent negative publicity for Microsoft then I’m afraid it’s not working. I kept expecting the barrel of a gun to poke in from off-screen…
Game looks about as sterile as you’d imagine a Fable reboot from the makers of Forza Horizon to look. At one point someone excitedly explains that you can become a landlord in the game and evict people. Another major selling point is being able to murder a giant digital Richard Ayoade and as they describe this there’s this uncomfortably long shot of his lifeless corpse splayed out across an English countryside… Adventure awaits???
I already thought that Molyneux pitching that Black and White/Fable hybrid as his last chance for redemption as an ailing man in his 60s seemed pretty grim but this might just take the cake somehow…
When I first got a dvd player that would play divx files off of burned discs I made a mix of a bunch of my favorites from there for it and that was the first up on the playlist.
it has like “help, we are being held hostage and trying really hard to not make it look like that” vibes, while also desparately trying to convince you that they all really care about the original Fable games.
Another N64 recomp PC port. Made by the same team as the Majora’s Mask recomp project, and inheriting the mod support infrastructure they developed for that. This one debuts with a complete port of Banjo Kazooie Nostalgia 64 too.
Oh this works really well. I hope they get their Mario 64 recomp to this level (it’s kinda rough compared to the one I’ve been using on my Steam Deck).
now that I think about it, how many treasure games are even commercially available in 2026? ikaruga, radiant silvergun, sin and punishment if you count via a subscription service? is that it? maybe if you count rocket knight adventures via that questionable collection?
I thought they had killed XBLA but it looks like that’s only for 360s since the game (which has backwards support) is still listed on Xbox’s website for 5 bucks
5 bucks is a pretty fair price considering it’s essentially two different games (the HD mode is completely rebalanced)
