the bill and ted game boy game is pretty good. it’s basically californian chuckie egg
Seems weird to me that this game has so many Senior Design Leads developing it. I guess it’s like different aspects of the design are divvied up.
zach bitching about a game he knows literally nothing about besides the trailer
I’m immediately compelled by the imagery – especially the fact that it’s an embrace – but the gendered aspect rubs me the wrong way. like, why not flip it and have the lady do the sharp-shooting while the guy does improbable upper body strength stuff? like I’m immediately imagining a situation where, in classic videogame style, ur shimmying along a ledge with the guy, but shooting at approaching enemies with the lady. that’s cool! it’s still normatively gendered without having the woman’s role be reduced to literally just clinging to the capable man.
I’m sure she’ll actually be like, psychically potent or responsible for your tiresome upgrade tree or whatever, but at this point I’m straw-manning way too hard to take myself seriously anymore.
i like how dark it looks though! i respect a game with pitch black shadows.
to be clear: i wishlisted it immediately.
Yeah that seems cool!
It’s funny how much our thoughts overlapped. The image and metaphor of grafting oneself to another has a lot of room to blossom. Then I see how it looks when your shooting and you’re just holding on in a generically protective way.
yeah like she should also have a gun and be able to shoot in the opposite direction like the key art basically draws itself!
r-type but your support pod is corpse wife
Should be co-op mode for this
Noble of you to ignore the AI video he made of himself underneath that
Their games often had very good music. Especially this song.
shameless self promo i guess but i was among many who got interviewed for this article in a local San Francisco based publication about the recent changes happening with the Game Developer’s Conference this coming year. maybe check it out if you want to read more about that
note that i have no inside knowledge whatsoever about how GDC is going to look like this year or going forward
nitrome fucking cranked them out back in the day, kinda glad to see this
My personal opinion is that every Nitrome game not made by Aaron Steed had usually terrible level design that had no staying power beyond what the game’s base gimmick lent to it (though to be fair, some games like Mega Mash had a pretty good gimmick).
arcade archives outfoxies, motherfucker!
