had the same reaction – found it tolerable in 4 because I was so impressed with 4 in other ways (and turned off a lot of the constant overworld praise), then 5 hit and I couldn’t overlook it

and tbh it’s not like GT7’s presentation wasn’t vaguely repulsive in a different way, I think being able to afford to make good expensive driving games just entails walking on a knife edge of awful taste

Really need y’all to fire up The Crew 2 to really appreciate what Forza Horizon brings to the table, vibe-wise.

The Crew 2 is like if someone did a Silly Putty backwards imprint of FH, kinda squashed and stretched it out, and had aliens interpret it. It tries to do the enthusiastic festival thing but comes off so hokey and artificial that it makes all the people squawking in your ear in FH a delight by comparison.

everyone in the horizon games sounds like an itv2 quiz show host before the allegations hit

4 is the only one of these I’ve tried and the vibes were so putrid that I quit after like half an hour. intolerable

are the first couple not like this?

Oh they are. You just have to go to options and turn all those indepedent volume and notification sliders to zero.

In the first one you’re a no name schmuck rolling up in the festival in a V6 Corrado.

sometimes someone makes a game that looks exactly like what I wanted to play or make in 1999, but that I can’t really imagine myself playing now, and I’m just like, “good for them”

not going to play it for obvious reasons (and you shouldn’t either) but hey it’s PT 2

Sorry, what reasons?

Edit: oh damn, didn’t know this was MS published

According to the newest episode of Rob Liefeld’s podcast there was a Youngblood game modeled after Diablo that was canceled in a playable state after two years of development.

He said it was from the “creators of Diablo” and I don’t know if that necessarily means Blizzard, although they did have a relationship with Jim Lee. GT Interactive published some digital comics for him back when, so my money’s on them.

edit:

Sounds like it wasn’t very playable

Guess I’ll pirate it and spend the money I save on a new controller after I break one spiking it into the floor in terror

congratulations to game developers for inventing a new poor people tax and form of landlordism. there are gonna be so many schmucks who subscribe to this crap and end up spending more than the dlc costs

The least surprising news of the century. This studio sounds like 90% of the studios I have worked at. I don’t understand why the dumbest fuckers alive get to run a studio while the most talented and hardworking people have to suffer the consequences of leaderships failures - over and over again.

because talented people want to make stuff, dumbfucks explicitly want to do exactly what they are doing.

If there’s no consider of pirate, the $9.9 Stellaris with all DLCs subscription sounds a fair deal. I even think that price is a bit of hurting the players who paid full or 50% discount price for the amount of dlcs.
