unsure, but:

-based on FINAL FANTASY XII INTERNATIONAL ZODIAC JOB SYSTEM
-Background, character model, fonts and all 2D parts are higher resolution
-Movie scenes are higher resolution
-Uses current-gen graphics tech
-7.1 surround sound
-higher quality audio
-Japanese and English voice
-Option between original BGM and newly recorded BGM
-shorter loading time
-auto-save feature
-turbo mode

sounds promising

so … why would the game need a “turbo” mode in the first place, is what I’m wondering.
Isn’t that kinda, you know, admitting that it drags along unnecessarily? The first 8-10 hours left that impression, and likewise I left it at that - never looked back. Never have, never will.

p.s.: isn’t it interesting that they’re rehashing 12 (well naturally they’ll outsource this anyway, but still …) instead of putting VII-1, VII-2 and VII-3 on their “let’s progress ASAP because we won’t make it until 2020 anyway”-list?

This is probably a quick-and-dirty way to make a buck compared to the ground-up remake though. Shit, they need a way to fund animating all those summon animations

fuck

rip my life

interested to know what “re-recorded” music means

international version it’ll be worse than emulating the original game has been for six years and it upscales beautifully already

c’monnnnnnnn people

I know I literally have preservation in my job title but these remasters never come close to meeting my standards, it’s just being resold an old product that is less flexible and authentic than emulating the old product

ok I watched the trailer and based on that alone it sounds like the tracks are going to be a mixture of synthetic and live instruments. But why wouldn’t they just use the already poifik OST originals now that they’ve the space

They can sell new OSTs this way.

Based on the name I assumed this was going to be another State of Emergency.

I like how it still has the obvious fleur-de-lis motif

also, not really news, but here’s a good FFT interview:

it turns out square didn’t actually headhunt him after tactics ogre like I’d always assumed.

I did read somewhere that the original music will be an option in the remaster, so hopefully this is actually true.
