if folks from sb buy tabletop sim, they are morally obligated to play board games with me

Well I bought it sooooo

I played Duskers for IGF judging. It’s interesting but I am not sure it’s all that deep.

If you’re looking for a deep roguelike, Michael Brough’s Imbroglio came out today, or if you want something at the absolute other extreme of complexity you could try Vagante, which I finally tried out in early access today.

what’s your name on steam, I’ll add you

How was Vagante?

it’s… interesting. The controls are so needlessly convoluted, I was tempted to dismiss it out of hand. But it’s so full of well-designed dynamic elements that we actually got a lot of really cool emergent moments out of it, like you do in Nethack. I probably wouldn’t play it alone, though.

Are we talking original GameMaker Spelunky convoluted? TowerClimb? Worse?

oh, worse. For example, because you can always use magic, melee and ranged weapons, they’re all on different face buttons. You can quick-swap between your attacks by pressing LB and the relevant face button. You use RT for context-sensitive actions, except to lift objects you press down+LT. You never press LT for any other reason. You press up to open chests, and down to pick up the things that come out of the chests. And so on. But eventually you get used to it and it’s fine.

BlackHoleArtist is my ID, but my profile name is Virtual Clint. I don’t know how people find each other on Steam.

Oh, okay

Just Forge, huh

Well

the hell

this is the most microsoftian thing.

…well

Maize is a first-person adventure game about what happens when two scientists misinterpret a memo from the U.S. Government and create sentient corn. And that last sentence is pretty much the least ridiculous thing about the game.

June 3rd! It looks like they added a melee weapon, a katana, as well as a dash move (probably to make up for the slower console-tuned movement speed). I will enjoy revisiting this again since I don’t have a gaming PC right now.

I need a legit PC :frowning:

Sounds like Iron Helix

That game was fascinating to me even though it was a chore to actually play. Good tunez
