What did Fear Effect play like anyway? All I know about it is lesbians.

I just feel like pointing out that every game mentioned in this post has a character who is an archer and a character who is shorter than normal and drives a mech

Meanwhile, future GOTY coming through

It was basically Resident Evil with more cutscenes and ghosts sometimes.

I don’t see the appeal. It looks so stiff and janky. :frowning:

Oh jesus, that looks horrific.

And lesbians. Can’t forget that.

If it’s an RE clone, what would a 2016 sequel even look like? A thirps, or something weirder?

Didn’t a Fear Effect game have a character getting eaten out by a cockroach or am I thinking of Galaxy of Terror

…don’t look at me like that

Neptunia vs SEGA Hard Girls is coming west to Vita.

Only reason I’m bringing it up though is because in the European version Dreamcast-tan will be recoloured blue

Where’s the Cool Kids SEGA thread?

I got into the battleborn beta… it was horrible.

edit: reminding me of that made me depressed. So I ate an entire chocolate bar. It was so bad I have to eat my feelings.

I think the optimistic take on this is that they’re planning on doing this themselves. Everquest launched a “progression server” recently that runs from the launch version on an accelerated patching schedule – I think every month nets a historical “major revision”.

Eurogamer cites the WoW server as having 150k users; definitely large enough to summon the corporate eye. Coopting this desire would be the smart thing to do (even better: having this ready to announce in the next few days to immediately suck up that energy).

it’d sure be swell if self-eating nostalgic capitalism legitimately solved some of our game preservation issues with online games

How many of those players would convert to paid subscribers on a legacy server though? Let’s say 10% do at 15$/month, it’s 2.7M$ a year for Blizzard. Is that worth the cost of maintenance? What about if 7.5% of those convert to regular WoW subscribers when the private one is shut down even in the absence of anything special delivered for them anyway? I think business logic might cut against preservation here. (But Everquest didn’t think so, obviously – Blizzard is probably closely monitoring how well that is working out for them before they make the decision.)

Well that’s neat and all but doesn’t do me much-

Windows PCs

!!

I am pleased.
