I dunno. As a gameplay loop it looks like singleplayer Destiny but without that Bungie shooting. I like the aesthetic trappings but that’s not enough to power a Diablo thing. We’ll see.
But did you see that trailer at the end with the hang glider and hot air balloon and robot vehicles and stuff?
One of the vehicles is a robot hand you ride around on like Thing from The Addams Family and shoots things with its index finger. Hopefully there’s a lot of weird/cool stuff like that as you go along through the game. If the major draw ends up being how often you find new or interesting things while exploring then a simpler Diablo/Destiny-style loop might be more than sufficient.
I mean yeah and Destiny had those speeder bikes and whatever. I get it, the style is pretty cool, but I think I might be done with mashy cooldown combat and fetch quests.

those are some pretty good properties to coast on remakes of! To be honest though I’d assumed the reason they hadn’t remade secret of mana yet is because the combat feels kind of weird compared to modern titles & so much of the game is in the SNES visuals and audio.

I literally never won a single match on the weird-shaped neotokyo arena when playing it with my friend against randos (in fact, every time we were about to win, we’d choke at the last minute) and I loved it for that

Same shit in Rainbow Six Siege now, anything that favors attackers or defenders too much gets removed/reworked and thrown out of the ranked rotation completely.

I have only a very casual interest in either property separately but the combination has a much stronger pull
Zero was real good and I was kind of ambivalent about dropping the time and money on the next, what, three installments in the pipe, but this is a very good opportunity to see what they can do with that new combat engine
