like all populist movements, they don’t actually have a coherent ideology. its all anxiety. they will at all turns find themselves the victims, and the only recourse against an anxious marginalization is simple volume. the fluidity with which that volume has consistently turned to violence is…I don’t know. I want to blame it on the internet, but I wonder. at its core, GG is pretty self aware. they know they are largely hated and that they are fighting a losing “battle,” but it’s still something to do, so why not.

I (and others) can tepidly attribute it to marginalization, both self-ascribed/self-perpetuated and otherwise, but it is almost certainly more complicated than that.
