All I’ve gathered is that her thesis that GG is claiming to promote child pornography and, by extension, sex trafficking is actually arguing that imposing Western anti-CP laws on Japanese material is counterproductive
So they’re willing to argue against their own interests for the purposes of harassing a woman
The whole thing is mystifying. In what sense is a corporation modifying its own property for international release censorship? The word doesn’t even apply.
It’s censorship because they’re stopping you from petting your waifu in the name of appealing to an anti-petting market and you wanted to pet her so bad and now your dick is in your hands with nothing to do anymore because now petting is tantamount to degeneracy
Thank God a German whose second language is English is leading a team to give us a script that translates the original game more closely and reads like the Sahara
Rest assured, I don’t really care about this game, so whether or not I think it’s censorship (it’s not there, whatever, petting animes won’t make the game any better) is moot (and apparently the market feels the same considering the press release NoA sent out)
However, attempting character assassination of this magnitude because of petting…
EA’s CFO says Titanfall 2 is coming out this year. It will have a campaign. I know nothing else about it but the opportunity to expand the first game is very exciting.
God willing it will not be rotten with an “economy” that maximizes “engagement.”
like all populist movements, they don’t actually have a coherent ideology. its all anxiety. they will at all turns find themselves the victims, and the only recourse against an anxious marginalization is simple volume. the fluidity with which that volume has consistently turned to violence is…I don’t know. I want to blame it on the internet, but I wonder. at its core, GG is pretty self aware. they know they are largely hated and that they are fighting a losing “battle,” but it’s still something to do, so why not.
agreed, but that’s a particular brand of trademark nihilism that had to generally arise from somewhere, and thus far no one has been able to pin it very well. I (and others) can tepidly attribute it to marginalization, both self-ascribed/self-perpetuated and otherwise, but it is almost certainly more complicated than that.
Why not? I’m engaging their debate on its own terms. I could do the whole reductio ad absurdum if you’d like, but you should know me well enough by now to know that “corporation responding freely to profit motive” is a phrase I can’t say without sarcasm.
Yeah I know. I guess I just take an idle pleasure at poking holes in it in my head. I’m a defense lawyer after all.
