Well, they seem pretty interested in making a game like Star Control, so it seems alright to me?
Itās not like Star Control is a hot property that theyāre trying to ride on. Why would you spend money on the rights to the Star Control name if you didnāt want to make a Star Control game?
I donāt think itās a big deal to not have the story bits. An origin is a reasonable thing to explore, and in that case you donāt really even want the Ur-Quan & co, right?
Has Stardock ever shown fun writing? GalCiv 2 had a decent manual story but it was a) pretty dry and b) pretty derivative of, um, Star Control.
No this is a relief, I wish they would just number shit these days instead of slapping on indistinguishable post-colon subtitles or like some Assassinās Creed nonsense of multiple games with different subtitles within a system of numbered sequels.
RDR is probably the best open world game ever made? So this is pretty exciting.

hmmm. considering the modern definition of the genre as circumscribed by GTA3 (rather than stuff like the original fallout), and excluding open world games which I like at least as much but arenāt really on the same level as open world games like saints row 4 or just cause 3 ā¦ yeah, RDR probably takes it. I still wish the difficulty curve wasnāt flat for certain stretches, but itās definitely the best GTA.
Too bad Stardock is run by a hardcore gamer goober. Iāll pass on whatever they make.
