i suppose what i am saying is that none of these things seem to have infiltrated the general narrative when discussing persona (both here and abroad) and the games really have not earned the kid glove treatment.

The latest Tales of game, Zestiria, supposedly has the main characters being a lot more than platonic but honestly I played it and even though lots of people are reading it that way, it sounds like traditional Japanese Game Developer Queer Baiting where they refuse to take a stance or address anything from it

I worked in a Japanese high school for 3 and a half years. Non romantic relationships do not exist between boys and girls. They won’t even talk to each other in class. Whenever a student would see me hanging out with a female around town, they would yell at me for being a liar for saying I didn’t have a girlfriend
