I think Legends is better but I liked Origins a good deal as well, I’d have said it was probably the best last gen straight 2d platformer until its sequel came along. It also has the “speed run each stage” feature that I liked and was cut from the sequel, and it is also markedly more challenging for those into that.
Yeah, I honestly can’t imagine playing the Wii-U version due to that. The PS3 version just has you press the O button or something just to have your helper automatically do what it is supposed to and it works so much better for that. With that system it is just like having to remember to hit a button to slide while running at full speed to avoid an obstacle, which actually works while letting you continue to proceed at full speed.
Yeah, I never really gave a shit for competitive multiplayer, though co-op was always my jam. Hearing the campaign sucked meant I didn’t even bother checking that game out at all. MP was always a side benefit for me.
So, technically, while Microsoft fronted the money for Sunset Overdrive, the reason Insomniac went to them to begin with is that MS would allow them to keep rights to the IP. So ultimately, the decision rests on Insomniac to port the game over to PC or make a sequel for everyone.
My advice is to take advantage of the casual devaluing Microsoft has done of the system and snag yourself a cheap box
They always rebalance the game to make the pacing tighter. It takes less time to gain levels, there’s an reorganization of abilities and items. The game is generally made more convenient to play. For example, DQVII was a game where you needed to really search hard as you go in order to find items to progress (the reason being a neat effect where you grow your map from just an island to a full world of continents), the new game has a detector to just tell you where they are if you’re not enjoying yourself! That kind of sensibility.
The class system was the biggest problem in the original game, and they’ve also rebalanced that. Since abilities had no limitations, the game ended up with all the characters using the same ability every battle. The new system forces diversity and more thought put into development, which is great because DQVII has a glut of abilities to use that would be looked over before!
yeah they are rejagged thoroughly, and the vii rejagging might be the biggest of them? besides all the numbers being rebuilt you also engage visible monsters on the map to start random battles, which is a thing from ix that i guess is being incorporated to the vii and viii remakes.
i’d be surprised if there’s not a new dungeon or something.
oh, is the town building thing in the remake? i pretty much ignored that when i played on ps1. maybe it uses streetpass??
