“That fucking shotgun is straight out of Doom!”
Killers will be killers. I seriously don’t think CoD encourages kids to join the military (or shoot up anyone at all). I think it encourages kids to play more CoD.
Proper propaganda needs (1) a national identity and (2) a national enemy. CoD games are becoming less and less about these.
Black Ops III in multiplayer (i.e. the mode people actually play; I have over 170 hours on the game and still have not passed the second stage of the campaign, and I’m amazed 2016 still has one) features a wonderful variety of characters of unique origin (Russian, Columbian, Brazilian, British, Singaporean, American) and gender parity. Three male, three female, one indeterminate, and one robot. The game encourages you to play all of them, and they all have great design, quips, background lore (should you care), weapons, abilities, and clothes to unlock.
None of them are sexualized or garishly cartoonish.
Like, for fuck’s sake, it’s sensible action figures having airsoft duels in waterparks. It’s completely innocent fun.
