MUWT 2: The Quickening

5 is the best one, BUT I remember 6 having a gloriously ridiculous finale, where there’s a cargo plane full of cars running down a highway and the highway goes for like 13 miles.

It’s a runway.

But it still goes for like 40 miles.

how is 120 mph a conservative estimate? that’s very fast

i keep thinking about the warthog escape level/scene in hobbs and shaw, i think i really liked that movie

Dear Sony, I’ll take a “Lord and Miller presents Maximum Carnage” please.

Starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson, Jared Leto, etc.

R rated of course

I’m excited about this mel gibson as odysseus movie that skips over the odyssey part so it’s just mel gibson looking like mel gibson talking this bullshit story about what all he’s been up to and hopefully killing suitors in graphic detail.

Odysseus: and then we angered the sun god by killing his cattle.
Eumaeus: that’s wild. have you ever done dmt?

they should keep athena in though, and for depicting her they should be thinking “what would tp s3 david lynch do?” but I imagine they’re too cowardly for that

The Japanese Blockbuster is closing shops all over so i went by one of the big ones and picked up some movies I had never heard of.

The Specialist won a bunch of razzies. It has Slyvester Stallone in a cardigan, Sharon Stone as a sexy voice, Eric Roberts as a sleaze bag, James Woods doing James Woods things and MIAMI.

It also has a Cinemax level sex scene where you see Stallone’s side peen and I thought they were using a body double for earlier topless Stone but you see her and Sly going to town in a shower. It goes on for a while.

James Woods being a monster in real life puts a real damper on all of it.

Sea of Love is a romantic…cop drama? About alcoholic Pacino trying to get his life together while figuring out if his girlfriend is a murderer of classified ads guys?

It has a good ending and then backpedals to a happy ending.

There are more screens and stuff here . Saving Darkman for when a friend comes over. sea of love, frantic (which I threw in the garbage 15 minutes in), and The Specialist all have about 5 minutes of up top establishing shots of the city and those are really the best part seeing 80-90s Paris, Miami, and NYC.

You’d never hear of Darkman, eh?

I mean, that is the Odyssey

all the wild adventures are stories told in the past tense, sometimes through multiple removes (“hey kid your dad was here and he said…”)

it’s The Text

anyway it’d be cool if someone did this without a Mel Gibson oh well

it’s a good movie actually

it is, it’s actually very honest about its nostalgia and critical of its characters while still carrying off tarantino shtick

definitely the best thing he’s made in 15+ years

good assed movie

not a particularly inflammatory unsubstantiated disagreement but I’m looking forward to hearing the rest

I’ve never loved a movie so much on a shot to shot, line to line basis, and been so unsure about the thing globally.

I mean except the feet, what the fuck Quentin please jerk off on your own time
