remind me to watch down by law, starring tom waits
yeah may as well watch it. like most Jarmusch not a lot happens but itâs fine
The Menu almost earns its running time (despite overshooting by 20/30 minutes) by allowing Fiennes to be This Generationâs Vincent Price and Hoult being a sleazy fanboy who is served the fattest slice of humble pie (in the form of a basic lamb dish)
John Leguizamo being corny and annoying is finally aging into someone who doesnât make me think âDamn Luigi sure is corny and annoyingâ; and a personal first
down by law rocks john lurie is the best. i think a lot happens for a jim jarmusch movie, its basically a regular ass movie
no i guess youâre right i mostly remember the stretches of nothing in between the events
four minutes into Suicide Squad (2021), and i am almost convinced that Captain Boomerang has a giant Citroen logo (before 2022 refresh) on his chestâŚ

super edit 2:
that was a wild ride, eh. Didnât expect it, but it really is a rare case of remake gone better than first shot. ![]()
you can definitely tell that house party '23 is written by two of the main writers for atlanta because it has lots of good jokes and extremely specific pop culture references and an off putting lynchian ride into the world of the illuminati but the pacing/editing really is not snappy enough. the two main actors donât have (or are not directed with) the charisma or improv chops or energy to hang a whole movie on. that one dude from doctor who does a good american accent tho. itâs likeâŚokay. this is like the definition of a funny on paper movie.
I watch Teen Wolf last night and even having absorbed a lot of the movie through cultural osmosis I was still surprised how weird (in a stupid way) it is.
The main girl character is named Boof and I donât remember if they ever say what itâs short for.
shin ultraman was great, posting this mainly bc i saw a few people posting online that they felt like they missed a lot by not knowing any of the different versions of the show and i wanted to post a counter opinion, which is that the dryly summarizing tone and weird structure of the movie is one of its chief pleasures even or especially if you donât know the original at all. i liked whenever ultraman did weird zero-g movements like spinning wildly around his x-axis and also the part where the japanese government signed a treaty with a weird little space alien in a not-suspicious trenchcoat and hat. also someone out there has a deviantart page full of photoshops of giant women and theyâre gonna feel like itâs their christmas, and iâm so happy for them.
Yeah this shit ruled, but also was an attempt to integrate the show having the goofy statue of Ultraman whenever he would fly by saying such rigid posture was part of his moveset or something. Yet another giggle inducing thing for me.
Glad they included this, just in case you thought it was Hans or Fritz Nietzsche
Finally saw Possession (1981) and I cannot stop thinking about it. The most frightening breakup movie I have ever seen. Cosmic horror is apparently when your wife gets a new boyfriend. Cosmic horror is apparently the feeling that you donât love your husband anymore!!
Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani just go fuckin wild with this one. So many incredible images here and most of them involve these two folks doing the most sinister bugeyed stares. This whole movie was exhausting, nonstop 100 miles an hour shit, teeth bared, five genres at once and all of them depressing, and I am glad I saw it. Marriage Story just made me miserable but this one is kind of invigoratingly horrible.
(For some reason I lost my mind every time they called their 4-5 year old child âBobâ)
itâs really SOMETHING right. all the circling camera work
We were also really tickled by the scenes where he aggressively rocks in the rocking chair and the camera follows him back and forth with these sickening sweeps
forgot how much of a fucking dream sequence the last act of hard-boiled becomes⌠like tony leung chiu-wai and chow yun-fat get to the hospital and suddenly theyre solving resident evil puzzles, escaping poison gas traps, the baby stuff is like⌠fucking insane??? we were both like was john wooâs wife pregnant when they were filming this? it like ends at a similar place as face/off gets to, another movie which i was also fantastically high during my last viewing of in a way that let me see how nightmarish a lot of it wasâŚ
god the hallway scene is amazing⌠like⌠no dude⌠u didnt kill a cop⌠seriously dude⌠no you did actually lol
and in the last scene⌠tony leung chiu-wai would rather fucking shoot himself than watch his boyfriend be degraded bc in a lot of ways this is like⌠a movie about chivalry⌠wayward swordsmen⌠heroic bloodshed was never real and john woo was just making wuxia films with gunsâŚ
it honestly only gets better every time i see it and its not even my fav john woo filmâŚ
and michael bay wasnât even working in the Industry (yet)!
After internalizated all the cards of Watergate boardgame, this is the first time I have a fast imaginable images about the names come from the All the Presidentâs Men.
Yes, I finally finished watching All the Presidentâs Men and fully understand what the journalists talking about in the movie this time.
