i can’t remember who first pointed this out but it is incredibly weird how none of the big 90’s miramax-era indie-to-mainstream directors have done anything but period pieces in the past several decades. here’s hoping pta breaks the trend…

i guess maybe with the exception of david fincher? idk i didn’t watch the killer
oh and soderbergh but this is one of the things that makes him more interesting than most of those guys even though his movies are always kind of mid

the killer was really funny and underrated because half of it felt like Fincher making fun of himself for once while still directing very competently
