The idea of Kansas and Missouri being allies is almost as insulting as California and Texas teaming up

All the poor southern states with no infastructure…uhh belong to florida and uh…everyone still respects state boundaries…it represents umm…values…

it’s especially ahistorical because Florida is culturally not that southern and most of its national influence is both mischaracterized and overstated by opportunistic reactionaries

The “Western Forces” thing is less egregious (basically outside of the I-5 down to Eugene people are pretty mountain minded), and both Texan and Californian sovereignty at least have some basis in reality and imagination, but the rest, no

how is Vegas in a defensible position lol

this movie’s view of the eastern seaboard would be better if it was contested between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Southeastern Conference

In an extremely fictional 21st century where a civil war would happen, laughably, along state lines,

and you have South Carolina NOT seceding,

I honestly just don’t even know what to say about how stupid that is

Also Minnesota not being hardcore unionist

The whole thing is just so slapdash!

PNW should be split between cascadia and jefferson, the liberal parts of california would join cascadia, while idaho joins jefferson

I mean once you talk about splitting states you are already abandoning the dumb apparent conceit of this movie and moving towards a coherent vision of what a 20xx American civil war would look like, which is a Syrian style disintegration of constant guerilla warfare and block-by-block rule by innumerable religious and ideological militias.

But that’s complicated and depressing and not nearly simple enough a scaffolding to support your “you know, both sides have their extremists, we need more unity” thesis

Ohio not instantly splitting into at least three separate states is clearly bullshit.
