Prepare for new levels of video game violence
if “This one goes to eleven” isn’t the tagline they are doing it wrong
It’s actually just “You’re Next”.
Brutal attacks are still obscenely long I see
Since they aren’t tied to your super meter anymore I imagine you should expect to see them a lot more often now too. These Fatal Blows looks like they might as well be fatalities though, geeze.
all should be ashamed of this
Ronda Rousey is voicing Sonya Blade.
Exhibitions are in an hour. They didn’t show a lot but it looks about what you’d expect from a sequel at first glance. Most noticeable change is that you now have separate super meters for offensive abilities and defensive abilities rather than sharing the same meter, and the x-ray moves have been replaced by Fatal Blows which you gain access to when you’re low on health. Variations are in still in but you can customize them instead of just selecting from presets.
Wonder if they’ll stick to their guns this time or deemphasize changing character stats with gear like they did for MKX
I think I saw stats during the brief customization segment of the video but typically that stuff gets disabled in the “competitive” mode. They’re probably still doing the random loot stuff from Injustice 2 so that would probably be really hard to balance, but maybe they can keep some simple stat adjustments associated with each of the customizable moves.
Skarlet’s design is a massive improvement over what NRS was doing in MK9.
Those are totally wasteland biker goggles!
No TERFs in my videogame pls
.
They remind me of Huitzul’s eyes.
bring back the xray attacks that had characters puke
All fighting games need to get back to their roots with a robust barf system
That’s a lotta guts
Was this the official reveal that it will be on Switch?
Can’t wait for Sonya Blade to start talking about how Sandy Hook was a false flag operation.
Anyway, game looks pretty alright. Guess they’re scaling back on customization options from Injustice 2 (head, torso, arms and legs, plus something else I’m probably forgetting, to just three of those), probably for the best.
The “something else” was the “unique” slot for the character specific item.
Overall I like the look of it so far. It has a bigger focus on fundamentals, with faster walk speeds for everyone (no runs), longer mid-range normals, and less juggles. I hope they simplify the commands somewhat, as I never liked the button combinations for the strings. They felt a bit unnatural to pick up and not consistent enough between characters to easily pick up and play.
