oh man i didn’t even think about the hunting horn, that could be a really fun main. i thought that was a cool idea in 3U solo but i know it doesn’t really shine unless you’re rolling deep.
i think hardcore hornheads would disagree and tell you it’s just as good as anything else solo, but i haven’t spent much time with it either
i played through all of MHX solo with the horn, probably gonna start incorporating it into my arsenal a bit more at high rank here as i think ill be playing online a bit more
i did like the solo you could play that increased your move speed! and how weird the combos were. MH does a great job of expressing unwieldiness with its large weapon animations.

Paolumu (the bat thing that inflates itself) was the first time I really felt good about my glaive and the first time I was reliably getting the limit break mode activated after my bug absorbed all three colours so that was cool

Curry was awesome in helping me with a couple hunts yesterday, though the game froze for both of us when they landed an attack on Queen Rath! Take 2 was a success, even when I had a knock at the door and had to run in circles for a minute. 
I spent like three hours last night exploring greater heights of the Ancient Forest and carving Tobi-Kadachis. Plus trying to get more Aptanaths down. That dude has been a pain but next time I’m going for DAT THROAT.

Yeah, I’m itching to go back to Tri and give it another shot, see how I feel about it.
In other news: I didn’t buy a PS4 Pro. But only because I couldn’t! The shop didn’t grant me installments after I clicked buy, so that’s that. No sale.
Maybe I’ll be able to save some money until fall and then either buy a new graphics card (I think mine would still be good enough but I want one that can do 1440p at high settings) or a PS4 Pro if the port sucks major balls/is basically unplayable. Because Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus and other exclusive are looking mighty fine to me right about now. I guess I’m in console mood again after many years.
i had to buy a new controller recently, and i saw that they’re selling new ps4 pro consoles without the controller on ebay for about 300 and i was like “hmmm.”
I recall something about now being the absolute worst time to buy a graphics card because of bitcoin-related shortages, but was only paying half-attention. Beware, be aware, etc.
