That’s the game telling you to grab some friends and hunt the rest of the bestiary while you pick up tracks on the way. Spend some quality time with some old friends in their new high rank duds. Try another weapon path etc.
In the old games, once you hit high rank you had to go through the whole list in the quest ledger or look up the specific key quests to unlock the next urgent.
I too worked over Anjanath. Then I did the early Arena levels which indicated to me that I’ve got a ways to go with mastering quick kills; getting only bronzes that are 3-4 min off silver is pretty poor performance. I still got the Great Blade muscle memory from 3U though!
I think I still have more fun expeditioning and ruining wyverns’ days.
I don’t know if I’ve ever gotten more than a bronze in arena I think they’re usually made with the intent of bringing a friend in, but I don’t remember my times with a friend either.
Seconded, and yeah I’m pretty positive the times are built for two people. Kinda lame. If they can adjust the monsters a little based on how many people are on a quest then a little tinkering with the Arena Rank times would go a long way to making me more interested in it.
I remember reading somewhere that for any number of hunters >1 the monster gets an additional 150% health. IDK if that’s different for the arena, but generally, two people should have the slowest times. They’d also get most loot, though, since you can both bring palicos with plunderblades. With >2 you should be more than compensating for the extra health, but nobody gets a pal.
okay i just hunted palomu for the first time and i felt legit bad about it. i’m gonna start carrying cap gear to all my hunts so this doesn’t happen again.
I watched a switch axe player in high HR play for a couple hours last night. It appears they did some small prep work to literally ignore everything their hunt could throw at them so they could combo without needing to reposition in about four out of the five quests they had. That felt…wrong somehow.
On my end, I still haven’t got the timing for guard pointing yet. =/
Quropecos are like the heel of Monster Hunter 3U. They lay eggs in Rathian nests, one of their subspecies breathes fire because well, I guess they’re compatible, and they honk loud enough to bring down a giant angry pickle against you. They’re the bird you love to hate.
The patch that just dropped includes some matchmaking fixes for PS4, particularly related to Squad searching. I only had that kind of issue once or twice, but I’ve been experiencing frequent drops mid-quest with various error codes. Might suck for some people who had their Squad data wiped in the fix.
I got to the point of fighting puffball bat and just don’t see it as a whimsical creature. It is really neat with the little details like how it puffs out a bit of air to maneuver and orient itself.
