I watched several of her BotW AMQ runs back in the day, and at the time I felt it was a little poetically coincidental how some of the themes and tone of BotW felt like they lined up with Narci’s own career arc… in particular, how Korok Forest (depicted in that thumbnail and a significant AMQ destination) holds the only NPCs (other than those connected to Zelda herself) that vividly remember and celebrate Link when you arrive, eagerly calling him “Hero”… especially coincidental because Korok fka Kokori Forest is the main stage of Ocarina Of Time’s speedruns, such as Narci’s career-defining “eighteen-twelve” several years earlier.
There’s no narrative connection between the OoT forest and the BotW version (especially since TotK would later essentially “reboot” OoT’s story outright) and you the player are not expected to recognise the Koroks’ greetings when you play the game, so this feeling of coincidental meaning was particularly serendipitous.
Anyway, no idea whether literally anyone else on the planet felt this way, let alone the runner herself, or how much this angle is played up in the doco.

Narcissa re-joined the Beetle Adventure Racing community after she stopped playing BotW and i got to compete against her some and interact with her directly. she really is an incredible speedrunner. i’m sure that’s evident to everyone, but the actual substance of it can still be staggering even if you feel like you already “understand” - it was for me. like, i’ve been running a long time and have encountered a lot of talent, and Narcissa is one of the all-timers, straight up. her skills are unbelievable

i def watched some of those Beetle Adventure runs, as well as her Castlevania 64 runs from a few years ago. the vibe of those was generally very chill vs. how a lot of them were during the documentary period. obvs she’s had her mental health issues and the transphobic harassment and quit speedrunning for a bit. and i’ve kinda fallen out of touch with her outside of very occasional texts. but it does seem like she’s intending to do speedrunning again at some point from looking at her youtube.
