Why does this have the tone and text-to-speech voice of one of those bizarre AI-generated political videos you’d find on like… facebook or something?
“PEOPLE are coming to TAKE your precious GAMES…”
The plate of spaghetti really brings everything in that picture together.
Collector’s item, covered in red sauce
I think my sister may actually have a pasta stained Charizard card
night striker gear looks like this
all sprite scaling
though i did like this suggestion that it might be a game gear game
I got a charizard in the first pack of pokemon cards i ever bought
I refuse to believe that anyone on earth has ever been nostalgic for the Last Action Hero
one of the saddest images i’ve ever seen
Which of course is proof this was made by some Gen Z moron, which is further proof that fascism is nostalgia for an invented time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles poster but PAL PSX cases

smh
The thing I don’t get is the absence of toys. There are so many toys and non media fads people have as kids but the media seems to dominate representations of nostalgia
To the surprise of no one, Microsoft finally gets around to converting the Xbox division to a services company.
what kind of family would have every gaming console, thousands of dollars in games, and a tiny piece of shit tv like that. why are they throwing darts less than a foot away from the tv. machine generated images are so grotesque
there’s a G1 Optimus Prime (note that G1 was dead for most of the 90s and the notable TF franchise of the decade was Beast Wars) and a Street Shark which
motherfucker Street Sharks was some also-ran shit that didn’t come to air until TMNT 87 was being lowered into the dirt (though I guess it lasted long enough to spawn Extreme Dinosaurs)
as someone old enough to have lived through the 90s, this doesn’t represent my nostalgia because my nostalgia involves being hyped for Dinosaucers on the USA Cartoon Express (Dinosaucers is cool! the guy who created it produced Batman 89! he knows entertainment!)
also, and this is in general, but like, we played sports video games in the 90s. NBA Jam was one of the biggest arcade games of the 90s! Nintendo made games about the baseball team they owned! Madden was a crossover title! I’m a fucking god awful, gromless asshole nerd who plays bad anime games and I played sports games!
in conclusion, you can buy complete collections of Street Sharks and Extreme Dinosaurs on disc from Discotek
this image is designed to make everyone mad. i think it has zero genuine feeling behind it. it’s a trap
are you telling me neither of these children were into Mortal Kombat
society was into Mortal Kombat
My shibboleth is that Resident Evil poster. Part of the appeal of Hot Topic was it being the first store you could go to and know they would have video game merchandise. The only other place you were getting that was bootleg wallscrolls from a mall kiosk.
There was probably a 10 year window where, even at the end of it, it was easier to find a poster for the Super Mario Brothers movie than any other poster with Mario on it.
