there’s a G1 Optimus Prime (note that G1 was dead for most of the 90s and the notable TF franchise of the decade was Beast Wars) and a Street Shark which
motherfucker Street Sharks was some also-ran shit that didn’t come to air until TMNT 87 was being lowered into the dirt (though I guess it lasted long enough to spawn Extreme Dinosaurs)
as someone old enough to have lived through the 90s, this doesn’t represent my nostalgia because my nostalgia involves being hyped for Dinosaucers on the USA Cartoon Express (Dinosaucers is cool! the guy who created it produced Batman 89! he knows entertainment!)
also, and this is in general, but like, we played sports video games in the 90s. NBA Jam was one of the biggest arcade games of the 90s! Nintendo made games about the baseball team they owned! Madden was a crossover title! I’m a fucking god awful, gromless asshole nerd who plays bad anime games and I played sports games!

My shibboleth is that Resident Evil poster. Part of the appeal of Hot Topic was it being the first store you could go to and know they would have video game merchandise. The only other place you were getting that was bootleg wallscrolls from a mall kiosk.
There was probably a 10 year window where, even at the end of it, it was easier to find a poster for the Super Mario Brothers movie than any other poster with Mario on it.
