keep thinking ab how nice the orange model would sit next to that lofree braun kbm kit @Victor posted a few years ago :X
Oh yeah I forgot to mention I did pick that up from the sale but it still hasn’t arrived
i am tempted to buy a gamesir because i love good controllers and will never stop buying them but also i am extremely put off by the name ‘gamesir’
Wish that had a wireless option. Seems pretty cool.
yeah wheres the gamesub?
they should lean into it and make promotional fedorae with the logo on the brim
is there a way to give a blood potion that exhibits my disapproval
the balls are good

Horrifying price tag tho
thats all a controller needs is more moving parts
where can i buy the balls
man why do i want that so bad
those “’ joysticks '” are an extra removable gimmick, for anyone rightly horrified by this.
anyway, this is the 8bitdo pro 3, nicely announced less than 2 weeks after I bought the pro 2. it costs $20 more, so I’m not too annoyed since I mainly bought the pro 2 to have a controller with a decent dpad in a proper dpad position that also works on ios/ipados, which is a very niche use case with very few options! but yeah, I’ve also used it to play shit like ffv on my pc, and the pro 2 does not have 2.4 support while the pro 3 does, so that kind of sucks. the pro 3 also has removable magnetic buttons to change between switch and xbox layout. that’s a pretty gimmicky feature that leaves me a bit worried about the quality of the face buttons, which I would already call slightly below average on the pro 2. other than that, the pro 3 has tmr sticks, trigger locks, and two extra mini shoulder buttons. would I have waited two extra weeks and paid the extra $20? yeah, probably. do I care enough to try to return it to amazon? …maybe
my current general use controller is the gamesir cyclone 2, which is at least good enough at everything to get a recommendation from me. I don’t have an 8bitdo ultimate 2, but I think it’s probably a coinflip between these two controllers as a general recommendation for most people. no idea why the pro 3 is more expensive than the ultimate 2. maybe it’s the apple support.
their new dpad design is tactile switches (slightly lighter than those in xboneseries pads) under the super nintendo cross (less prominent center pivot than xbox) which is… hm. it feels good but it’s a little weird !
If it’s any consolation I had to do a double take on Xiaohongshu when I saw people there talking about it, because everyone just refers to the brand as “Little Chicken”
(I was similarly confused when I learned about some new Anbernic stuff being referred to as Zhou Ge, which I guess is the name the lead designer at Anbernic goes by, or is at least nicknamed by the community in China)
my temptation remained a temptation for 5 hours. then i bought one (they’re on sale for $17 from the company’s website, if you would like to avoid using a bezos store)
I hope they’re good and good to y’all who picked them up…I’ll never live down recommending BinBok joycons to everyone and everyone finding out that the lag on them was so bad you couldn’t properly fish in Animal Crossing…I swear these aren’t BinBok 2.0! I promise!
(Also…if you liked the BinBoks but wished they did suck ass, the Mobapad M6 HD is the Joycon set you want…if you’re still playing Switch 1.0 like I am, anyway)
Love watching this guy get obsessive about arcade sticks… you can get into a rabbit hole with these that runs even deeper than mechanical keyboards
I left his channel with strong opinions about what I wanted in a stick, and picked up this Famicom stick last week. I’m in love with the simple layout and build quality
This is so stupid but I laughed when I saw it in a video promoting something else
