Taking the DualShock 4 apart actually DID fix the problem in this case–it was R2 twigging out (activating when not being pressed); that one actually popped out when I pried the case open; put it back together and voila, no more twigging out. ^ _^ So thank you very much @schroeder for the suggestion. : D

I still have no idea how to put the L2/R2 springs in properly. Trying it the way videos online suggest don’t work for me :cryingpig:

Yeah it seemed so close-quarters and intricate I didn’t even try looking up a video. Uh it was something like the center circle of the spring goes around the peg coming in from the side and then each of the two branches of the spring sorta fits into a little slot either on the button or on the controller base…or something like that. I wasn’t sure I was gonna be able to do it but it came together somehow–it did feel like I could have used a third hand, since the spring likes to try slipping off the peg as you’re trying to hold the button while convincing the leg of the spring to slot into the base.

This took me a bit ^ _^

Sat down with the ol’ Xbox Adaptive Controller and… it won’t turn on. Tried different charging cables and plugging it in to different things, I think the battery is simply dead. It’s lasted a good 4ish years but I wonder if the use of USB analog sticks over such a long period very slowly drained the battery. There’s an option to get a DC charger for it (sold separately) and it seems this helps mitigate the issue but a bit annoying that its basic charging setup isn’t prepared for this but I guess costs are what they are to make it as affordable as it could be in the first place.

My Microsoft account is all locked up in endlessly cycling password recovery options. Considering just eating the premium (£50 more!) to buy another on amazon instead. :expressionless:

This looks like a controller I would have drawn when I was 11 in an effort to best the SNES controller. I love it.

(It never would have occurred to me to have another set of triggers and certainly not anything as useful as an analog stick. It might have occurred to me to put a trackball in the middle to allow for awful console ports of adventure games)
