Bad/dirty button membrane? At least that’s cheap and easy to check before you do something more involved.

Ah yeah I’ve taken one apart before, I guess I might as well give it a shot if it gets bad, good idea. ^ -^ (Didn’t get me anywhere on the last one. ^ ^- Hm that was with a dead d-pad direction though, not a button.)

i always assumed it used an even more primitive method: a weight in a little chamber with left and right buttons at either end.

okay here’s something that took me way too long to finally post: here’s how i play under night in-birth 2.
who needs a 300 dollar leverless controller when you have a split keyboard on a huge piece of wood that will cause technical issues when you bring it to your locals? (i fixed them but good lord it was bad when i first tried using it, most fighting games do not like having more than 1 keyboard plugged in.) i was inspired by this one guy who came to my locals with a leverless, but brought a little tv dinner table with him, and the fact pretty much every leverless controller i’ve tried does not fit my hands at all.
the part in the middle is affixed with a tiny piece of velcro, at first i thought it’d velcro the whole thing but the fact i can actually move the keyboard pieces around is actually makes it super comfortable.
here’s it without the keyboard. the gorilla tape is cuz it took a really bad fall last time i was at my locals when i was walking to my car. i am unbelievably lucky it didnt completely snap in half, lmao. also the masking tape is to make me remember where to put the keyboard, which i put there thinking it would serve more of an aesethic purpose, but its very good to automatically get me into comfy gaming mode …
and also! the back! i like putting sickers on it.
no clue what else to say, LMAO. i dunno, i guess the keyboard warrior thing is what it should be called but that name didn’t really stick at all. at least a lot of people point it out and love it, lol. also, had to cover up all the stickers that reveal where i’m from (obv), most of them are from a cafe that has a lot of stickers designed and made by ppl they know, hence why there’s so many.
anyways. i really only use it for uni2 because it just feels so much better on keyboard for how insanely fast that game is, to the point my heartrate can get really out of wack and my hands start to go numb 
(and also uni2 really only has 3 main buttons that you use. I have trouble controlling my pinky finger independently, it always moves with my ring finger, which obviously makes 4-button games a nightmare. uni2 does have 4 buttons, but since D isnt an attack, it works really well bound to the space bar.) (someone here probably knows what that means!) so obviously this thing doesnt get used nearly as much as i’d like to, because i LOVE uni2. unironically might be the best fighting game ever made imo, but this isn’t the thread for that. 
i hope the masses enjoy what is probably an affront against god, but my god is it useful.

it is now! i keep wanting to get back into uni because it really is a great game. I just kind of started to fall out of fighting games again by the time I got into uni, so I stopped playing it! I usually only stop playing a fighting game I’m into when I get mad at it because I suck, or I come to the conclusion that the game isn’t very good. neither of those things happened with uni! very well considered game

Has anyone ever seen a teardown video of an Egret 2 Mini? I’ve been looking but never found one.
Was curious because I was dreaming about taking out the controls and making a little useless stick out of it but seems like a waste so I wanted to see a teardown video before I even dream more about it.

i can probably sell you on uni2 in 2 sentences (cuz i assume ur talking about clr):
guilty gear strive has multiple season passes a year of 4 characters, each for 25 dollars. uni2 has 1 season pass of 4 (technically 3!) characters across 2 years for 10 bucks, which was also free with a preorder.

I also regret not persisting with Uni. It just came at a weird time in fighting game life and is also very technically demanding. I wanna go back and mess around with Merkava and Yuzuriha but I’m up to my neck in other stuff atm. Maybe when I finally get sick of other 2D stuff.

Well I don’t know that this broken controller is sparking joy exactly, but I just tried two other controllers with back paddles (Gamesir G7 HE and 8bitDo Pro 2) and neither of them is as comfortable to hold
So for now I’m still using the Elite 2 with one of the paddles mapped to the broken button

That happened to me with the RB on my elite series 2 and one of those squeezable blow-dusters, a reseating, and some contact cleaner has given me … 4 months so far?
