What’s the best Modern N64 style controller? That two legged one?
they all suck in one way or another
retro-bit tribute64 (classic) has a host of issues, including bad build quality and poor analog stick sensitivity and deadzone
retro fighters brawler64 is actual trash - terrible build quality, terrible buttons, terrible triggers, not the best layout (try mario kart 64). only consider if you are particularly aggrieved over the oem pad’s shape
hyperkin admiral - somehow worse than the brawler64
retro-bit tribute64 (wireless) - the best one yet. however, it drops inputs and the analog stick is still not quite right

i’ve dug it but for inevitable breaking of the least robust parts (shoulder bumpers), some instances of left stick ghost inputs/jamming, and the rear paddles are basically too high up for my small paws such that i can only naturally and comfortable rely on hitting the lower pair, the upper are wasted on me and i could in fact really make use of more rear paddles, it’s annoying
otherwise the best controller ever

seem to be a lot of complaints re: durability and stick drift but can’t really tell if that’s just outrage youtuber shit or not
I owned one briefly and sold it, finding it overbuilt in the wrong ways. Just get a series X controller imo

i’m nearly at a point where playing without back buttons is untenable now
yeah that’s why the ps4 back button attachment rules, you get em without having to comparison shop a bunch of $200 controllers which always seem compromised in weird ways
