Good lord, really? I’m pretty sure the previous one I sold @meauxdal has philips screws, that sucks.
Like, I have an iFixit kit but you shouldn’t need one.

Yeah, maybe it was a later addition, but the one i have definitely has torx on it, and so i had to go buy one because nothing else I own has those, lol. I will probably just swap them out for philips at some point, but the damage is done.
Oh yeah, it’s a great stick for the price and the wireless having two different options and such is great. Just wish it was styled a little better. In theory, i have some mechanical keyswitch compatible buttons coming to mess with, but I also have a set of seimitsu hot pink clears (always on brand) I can throw in whenver I want, as long as i don’t mind that some of them have the playstation symbols on them. I already threw a different balltop on it because I am vain, though I might swap the whole stick at some point too.
all the 2013 macbook air aftermarket battery replacements I ever bought for all the women I know each came with them
oh shit the balltop is replaceable on the new stick without replacing the whole thing??? I was wondering about that!!!
lmao it just screws off
I early adopted the new stick and couldn’t find any information when I was hurriedly placing an arcade shock order for sanwa buttons while I was still in the US
Yeah all balltops are just screws, but you gotta open the back of the stick to hold the screw in place if it is on there tight enough (which most of them are out of the box). Sizing is standard for balltops, though you might need an adapter for a bat top (which usually comes with the top) if you are one of those people.
this is the one i got:
The stick in there stock is just a knock off version of the standard sanwa, I think. I haven’t inspected it too closely, tbh.
My two SN30 Pros (non-plus) from 2019 use torx too.
I wish the 8bitdo pro 2 used an 8 way dpad like the Genesis/Saturn instead of the SNES dpad. I just don’t care for the aesthetics of the default pro controller.
Which is dumb because I love the Wii Classic Controllers and it’s basically the same thing
Nah, these are still way classier. NES/SNES nostalgia is gross, gimme the smooth bleached white + transparent buttons + blue accents wii aesthetic
That “Switch control” trick worked for me for Steam Link too, thanks for the tip!
yeah agreeing w the general sentiment around the design of the pro pads, 8BitDo are at their best when they Get Weird

I truly love how apple’s messaging appears to have some kind of prestige panic switch that gets flipped whenever they get too close to actually engaging with the admittedly very, very stupid medium of videogames, and so even as they keep insisting they absolutely want to be in this space, they keep like, chasing themselves off
$180 Apple TV now with 120hz support for ???

Also yeah the Pro 2 is going back it makes my hands hurt
To duplicate its functionality I will use four Xbox pads with laminated labels
I have one friend in particular who will be thrilled. They spent ages working on converting it to 1080p60 HDR10 so it could stream on Plex, so maybe they’ll finally be able to do 120.
