slayer has a lot of weaknesses (terrible backdash, normals that lose to faster close-range characters, half his movelist being easily countered/thrown), but my god he can do some damage
dojo masters came out! i mentioned when it first got announced last year that itās eerie how much it looks like a game iāve been imagining in my head for years. iām pretty bad at it, but iāve been having a lot of fun~
ooo this reminds me of great swordsman
yeah, it seems that the design goal for the game is to have made a fighting game in a pre-street fighter style, like karate champ, great swordsman, etc., but with multiple styles and with controls and balance up to modern standards.
it uses the d-pad and two buttons. the buttons are labelled pnch and kick, but they donāt always do those things. for example, when playing taekwondo, punch is used for taking different positions, from whence you can roll, or do different attacks with the kick button. so each style really plays completely differently from the others, even moreso than a normal fighting game, you canāt just play as one style then immediately go into another and just get by pressing buttons at random
You can almost hear the record scratch.
That new colour is kinda cool. Could work as the basis for the art direction almost
no one can stay dead these days in fighting games. itās a real problem.
Avatar/post synergy
they should just start mixing the bosses up. bison gets geeseās move set, heihachi gets bisonās, geese gets heihachiās. why not.
I thought theyād bring back Heihachi but in a new skin, like young Heihachi in Tekken Tag except more extreme. Maybe hot clone Heihachi inside the body of one of his dozens of children or something?
I dunno, seemed like an opportunity to do something cool but oh well.
Wait, what I was imagining is exactly what SFV did with Seth. That was pretty good, plus they couldāve just brought back old Heihachi as a skin for fans, just like with Seth.
Denied of Cyber Heihachiā¦
Reina was Heihachi all along.
Iām thinking I should probably try making it out to Evo at least once. Whatās the hotel booking process like? What are the hotel options generally, general price of rooms, and how does the hotel registration process work? And how fast do they sell out?
Having never played a Tekken story mode and knowing next to nothing about whatās going on in it I saw the reveal trailer on my phone without sound. My take from it was there was a group of monks training under Heiachiās style and then one of them suffered ego death and decided to become the new Heiachi like how Revolver Ocelot brainwashed himself to be the next Liquid. If thatās not what was happening in the trailer then I donāt want to be corrected.
Been enjoying Lidia. Kinda hard to get to her most powerful stance which is by design but she is basically designed to be a low rank killer with easy unblockable setups and damage.
She kinda feels inflexible and stiff which fits more traditional karate but sheās relatively easy to challenge once you know gaps in stance transitions. The mirror match is very funny since sheās quite punch heavy and has a relatively easy punch parry counter.
this really feels like the nadir of mortal kombat guest dlc, but iām always happy for robert patrick to get a paycheck
