I really hope something weird and sticky happens for the CaF online versus mode. I played SC6 for the first time recently and the robustness of the CaF really just highlights how useless it is.

are create a characters tournament legal

They will have a separate mode in the final game. In the beta they aren’t playable in 1-on-1 fights, they just represent your in-world arcade player.

Curious to see the optimal physique meta when the final game launches since body shape will affect hit and hurtboxes.

minimal upper body. arms and legs as long as possible and hands and feet maxed out

I’m hoping the custom character online fighting is fully fleshed out

every custom character will just be SF4 seth. dhalsim limbs, sonic boom, teleport, SPD, DP. what a dumb character

Am not blown away by a 9 GB demo with a whopping TWO playable characters and ONE stage. And that kicks you back to the title screen to ask if you want to buy the full game every two or three matches!

Eh well. It’s the same sluggishly animated unintuitive combo gameplay as 5 except now there’s another magic energy thing you can do to extend it further or whatnot. It’s the armored attacks of 4 plus the parries of 3 because why not. I’m not smart enough for this nonsense. ; )

You can turn off screen shake so that’s nice.

I thought you played Guilty Gear

The limited time open beta has 8 characters and online play. You may be playing offline only demo which is a separate thing?

SF6 kicks ass, looking forward to playing it to death for a month and declaring it garbage after, as is my wont!!!

Yes, Street Fighter 6 Demo, PS4 version. It does have an online mode of some kind, which I thought looked clickable? Hm yeah it’s got a X for ā€œConfirmā€ indicator. But I didn’t try it.

I tried to play GGX Survival mode for a while, couldn’t get back to squeaking by the second boss though so that didn’t go anywhere really. ; ) I never played GGX in any smart way, it’s real fast and not particularly unintuitive except maybe for the Dust air combo thing, but aside from that you can just jump around and kind of go nuts and it feels pretty good. Uh and X doesn’t have the like three different types of cancels and all that that later GGs have. I don’t think. Oh yeah so I definitely felt kind of dumb playing later GGs, but they didn’t feel as good, anyway.

there’s a demo and then there’s an open beta. the beta ends tomorrow, the demo is forever.

edit: oh wait I don’t think the open beta is on PS4. rip.

Playing the beta some more and realising how completely terrible I am at street fighter (I have never practiced and the most I’ve ever played I think might be SB meetups). So I did the dark deed and switched to modern controls and… I’m having some fun now? Limiting my options might even be a positive for me? Also feels like I could have clear learning path here like starting to do the real motion inputs to get the 25% extra damage and to do the auto combos manually while still being able to actually do anti-airs on reaction when needed.

i just need to know if the characters still feel like shitty and useless like in sfv or if they decided to make a game that was fun to play and not like all the edges and fun parts (to me anyways) filed off
