Maybe I’m doing myself a disservice by skipping the musical interludes. I actually didn’t even realize they were playing unique songs between the chapters until I was a few in.
You can never skip anything in their games!!! It’s vital to the experience!!
You’re right. I’ve got to take Remedy more serious than I have. Mirrors are more fun than television!
they know Jesse is dynamite… and they’re right
She’s also beth wilder in quantum break and it’s weird cuz she sounds like a different person somehow. I found out shes on the young and the restless now so good for her! I can’t fucking wait for lords and ladies in the max payne remakes. It’s going to be so good seeing soap opera actors in barry lyndon clothes saying sam lake shit!!!
do you ever think about that bit where esseJ says “uoy naht redliW hcum m’I”
not until now, but I do think about the guy on tv in max payne 2 who says “in a situation like mine…you can only think in metaphors” thanks sam… actually it is really cool how all the tv shows reflect aspects of the narrative lol
I need to know if address unknown returned for a limited series event
do you think about the one thomas zane poem in alan wake basically naming the characters in quantum break:
For he did not know, that beyond the lake he called home,
There lied a deeper, and darker ocean green.
Where waves are both wilder and more serene.
the remedyverse is the only cinematic universe I care about
yes! i am pretty sure quantum break takes place in its own little time loop bubble separate from the rest of the remedyverse, it is the first time someone used the phrase altered world event after all, and we have certainly seen just as weird shit in control. it would also account for the mysterious similarities between sheriff breaker and jack joyce…or Mr door and Mr hatch. Its the most fun way to think about it because quantum break only isn’t canon because bastard Microsoft owns it
I think you can reach the quantum break universe via the oceanview motel
That is basically the working theory. I’m glad you’re a true scholar tulpa
Finished Control and the AWE expansion today for the second time. I have had a massive turn around on this game, going from absolutely hating it to really loving it. I just had such a bad time playing it on my PC when it came out that it totally made it impossible for me to appreciate the intense grubby desperate combat for what it is. I also played on hard, which, no surprise, is really fucking hard. I think a decade of Alan Wake and Quantum Break being kind of easy or at least simple games made me forget how hard Max Payne was for me both as a kid and as an adult when I replayed it. Remedy make hard fucking games, and I was kind of a moron for forgetting that and getting mad at how hard Control was for me at variable 20-50fps in 2021.
The AWE expansion is still not very great. But Control is awesome. I can’t wait for the sequel, and to finally play more Alan Wake 2 after I finish The Foundation.
Hmm maybe it’s time to finally play Quantum Break. Also, this whole time I thought that main character was played by Dominic Monaghan, you know, that guy what played Merry in the LOTR films?? Well it’s not him at all.
Uh,
Yeah Alan Wake 2 was good.
Actually funny enough Dominic Monaghan plays the main character’s brother
Good god, they look so god damn like the same person.
I still think max payne is the best fit for sam lake’s uncontrollably hammy writing style. I’m looking forward to the remakes, but I really wonder how faithful they’ll be because as much as I loved max payne when it came out it really really wears thin on its only mechanical gimmick by the end. remedy has gotten much better about having interesting and varied combat mechanics since then so I’m really curious how they’re gonna handle it.
Max payne has not worn thin in twenty years!
