I wasn’t counting it as a remedy game
cause it was a for hire job campaign to somebody elses multiplayer thing but mainly cause it looked bad

i finished base Control yesterday and it’s been a treat. it’s been discussed already but god i love how Jesse just looks like some mid-30s woman
She’s actually just 28 according to this wiki but the actor her likeness is based on is 30.
I did not know they used her for Quantum Break as well. I’ve even played past the part where they introduce her character. I just didn’t recognize her I guess despite both characters looking very similar to the person they’re based on.
That’s interesting because I can recognize actors in different roles pretty easily but had trouble with a virtual representation. Guess graphics still aren’t quite there yet or maybe they are and it’s just down to artistic license making the characters more unique.
mona sax isn’t kathy tong the model it’s kathy tong filtered through the comic book art filters to look older and more severe and dead eyed and dubbed by daria’s best friend before it’s really mona sax
I got the impression the AWE dlc is inferring Mr. Scratch keeps trying to creep on Alice Wake but Ahti keeps coming out with a broom hollering about PERKELE
here is my review of control: nya~ =^.^=
i liked the implication that the reason awe’s have been happening more frequently since 2010 is because alan wake has been stuck in cauldron lake since then writing a bunch of stuff to try to get out and failing, it’s cool how every bit of exposition feels like a revelation
I just beat Control (or at least got the credits roll, looks like there’s some postgame). It took me a minute to recognize the credits song, because I hadn’t heard it since I was obsessed with the band in high school, but lmao lol rofl I can not believe they used not only a Porcupine Tree song, but Fear of a Blank Planet, a 7.5 minute song from what has to be the band’s most embarrassing period. Circa 2007, their frontman was really pissed about record companies selling lossy MP3 singles instead of physical albums, so he did a bunch of publicity stunts like shooting an iPod with a rifle, and then wrote this album that is entirely about how kids these days are bipolar, disaffected digital native sociopaths. Weird choice for a credits song! I guess the wonky 2000’s paranoid prog metal sound fits the game’s tone, but the lyrics are a loose fit at best. Made me laugh, but also made me kind of want to revisit that album and see how it holds up. I have to assume it doesn’t.
I’m stoned in the mall again
Terminally bored shuffling round the stores
And shoplifting is getting so last year’s thingX-Box is a god to me
A finger on the switch, my mother is a bitch
My father gave up ever trying to talk to me

my question is, is Alan Wake Sam Lake’s self-insert
every remedy protagonist is sam lake’s at the time jacket fashion self-insert
Alan Wake is a lot more fun if a Steven King head is explaining the references that aren’t Twin Peaks to you
We wanted something like Village that’s mild horror with a little camp and it’s a blast
a) the temporal reconstruction looks like those 60 FPS animation interpolation videos on the edges of Alan’s head and
b) holy moly can you imagine how good a ray-traced remaster would look? The game is already a masterpiece of cheated lighting but it’s also the perfect RTGI game because it’s 100% flashlight.
I scanned a QR code in Alan’s office and it said “Huh. Turns out this isn’t too bad even if you’re not sitting on a couch when you play it. Who knew!” I think Xbox PR actually encouraged trolling re: PCs at the time because I recall Cliff Bleszinski, Phil Fish, and Sam Lake doing it in 2010.
Really excited to go back through Quantum Break and Control after this. Worried Max Payne is probably just Too Old to get into on my comfy couch and big screen (jk)
Re: jackets, I was thinking I’ve never had a jacket or any garment wear out in the elbow
and can’t imagine leather elbow pads are comfortable to move with
but maybe elbow wear was a serious problem in the past and the pads are now vestigial
Is hoodie under coat-with-lapels normal in the PNW? Or a J. Allard mandate? Is master chief wearing a hoodie with his suit?

9YA is the answer.
I keep wondering how they’re going to go back to alan wake after quantum break and control, they’re going to have to give alan some mind powers or something, I don’t think just shining a flashlight around is going to cut it
Perhaps you’ll navigate by narrating his way through combat. Tactical narration action.
That or he’ll get powers that allow him to move at the speed of light
My favorite thing about Alan Wake was that like every weapon had a very slow rate of fire, really kept things tense.
So when the sequel immediately hands you a semi-auto pistol I was like mehhhhhh
That’s because the sequel is a score attack arcade game, which is a decision I’ve never really… come to grips with.
i mean isn’t it well-established that he can shape reality? there’s gotta be something they can do with that
It’s really fun so who’s to say if it’s bad or not
I don’t know, is it? I literally couldn’t decide whether or not it was fun. The whole thing was so bizarre.
Honestly that’s kinda why I thought it was so fun…like they were responding to a million complaints about the first game that I didn’t have. An alan wake game for a worldline that I don’t belong to
