Max Payne / Alan Wake / Quantum Break / Control

i bought it

i heard disabling some exploit mitigation stuff makes this run better

lol

I doubt it? It doesn’t have denuvo and the CPU is almost never bottlenecking. It’s just a really heavy GPU postprocess

i think sam lake is my favorite Games Man

I will always love Sam Lake and his obsession with smashing all his favorite TV shows together. He’s honestly the only person who can make an EXTENDED VIDEOGAMES UNIVERSE and have me care about it on more than a superficial level

I turned off the health and mission objective ui pretty early and now it hurts to see so many other peoples screenshots that still have those on. I wish I could of turned off the outlines around all the physics objects too. kind of wish the reticle went away after not aiming for a while like in max payne 3 too

yeah, this one is surprisingly damaging to ā€˜looking’ at the world outside of combat. I’d love for the HUD to disappear when the combat music does.

We want to address some of the feedback from our players. Hopefully this blog gives you some answers and reassurance.

Here are some of the things we are addressing. By no means is this a complete list!

PC RTX ISSUES
In most cases RTX issues are solved by making sure you have the latest version of Windows 10 (1903)

MOTION BLUR
Some good news – As part of our next update (tentatively mid to late September) we’ll be providing players with an ON/OFF toggle for Motion Blur and Film Grain. This will come to all platforms.

MAP
We hear you and we’re addressing the issues reported! Our developers are working to improve how the in-game map loads to ensure that all the relevant info displays immediately and correctly, as it should. We’ll provide more info on this very soon.

GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS
Right now, the team are looking at possible ways of improving console optimization in Control, but as you can hopefully understand, these things do take time and don’t happen at the press of a button (as much as we wish they did). We are also examining specific issues that some players have been experiencing and looking for fixes on those. When we have more info, we will be sure to let you know across our community channels.

HDR
Early on in Control’s development, it was decided that HDR would not be implemented in-game. This is a decision based on the fact that development resources are limited, and we need to allocate what we have in a certain way. Moving into post launch, we prefer to use the resources we have to focus on future free content for Control like the Photo Mode. We realize this may disappoint some players, but we hope the additions we plan to bring to Control more than make up for the absence of HDR.

WHAT’S NEXT?
To wrap things up, we want to take this opportunity to make it clear that this is just the beginning. Next week, we hope to provide our players with an update on future content plans something we know many of you are very keen on. Stay tuned for more information on that!

In the meantime, we hope this update reassures our players that we’re working behind the scenes on improving and bringing new content to Control. Just please be patient as the development team at Remedy is doing its best. Thanks once again for your continued show of support.

Good news: the game got a patch on PS4 (coming soon to Xbox and PC) to make the framerate less bad!

Bad news: early impressions don’t make it sound like it runs that much better on the base console.

this game does run really rough at times on base ps4, but its not got in the way for me at all

I am 100% on board for that expeditions game mode because I will take any excuse to play more of this game

Here’s a brief overview of what’s coming to Control…

First up, while some crafty PC players ā€œunlockedā€ their own versions of this already, we are working on a much-desired Photo Mode , which will enable you to take some awesome snapshots of Jesse in the Oldest House. Make sure you unlock all of her costumes to flex by the time the Photo Mode arrives this fall. We’ll have more information on this soon.

New Game Mode
In December, we will release a new game mode for Control that we are currently calling Expeditions. This will be a challenging new end-game mode in which Jesse must help Security Chief Arish explore the mysterious Formation and its strange surroundings. Here you will face the some the greatest challenges that the Oldest House can throw at you. You will need the best gear and abilities to survive. Expeditions is free for all players.

Expansions
Moving ahead to 2020, there will be two full, paid expansions that our team is hard at work creating: The Foundation and AWE. Both of these will offer new story missions, enemies, and game mechanics, and take place in new locations within the Oldest House.

The Foundation will delve into the history of the Oldest House. At the request of the ever-mysterious Board, Jesse must explore what lies beneath the Bureau as she returns order to the Foundation and the Oldest House itself. Expect things to get weird.

The second expansion, AWE, will take Jesse into a new part of the Oldest House, the Investigations Sector, where the Bureau closely examines Altered World Events.

more like Alan Wake Expansion

I never played it but officially bringing Alan Wake into their new game is pretty cool.

If you turn AWE upside down it looks like EMV. Evil Max (Payne) Villain???

Also if you rearrange AWE it turns into AEW.

Cody and Brandi Rhodes + Kenny Omega DLC confirmed. Young Bucks in second season pass.

Yeah I’m on board with all that expansion stuff. Can’t wait. I am ready to fall into the Remedyverse. I knew I should have played Alan Wake. I’ve actually had Alan Wake and American Nightmare on steam for years now but never played them and now I’m on a computer that can’t run them very well.

Oh well Control is awesome. Last I played I beat the Former. How far am I into the game? I’m guessing somewhere in the middle but I don’t really know.
