I didn’t know about 44 in 1-4!
Now I m remembering mapping the Mario3 N-Spade layouts.
And getting the coin ship!
What a game.
I do like Mario World a lot. I like the visuals and the music is always great. As a kid I liked how the game has an actual credits sequence and tells you the names of all the enemies and characters. The P switch secret stuff was cool and I never actually found the red switch until I was a grown up. I had a love/hate relationship with the ghost houses at first but they won me over in the end. The feather cape power up blew the stages wide open for better and for worse though.
this is true for a lot of choice-gamble stuff like that in games (like treasure dungeons in ffxiv) and has always brought me comfort
I had a guide with all the card flip games you get every 200k points or whatever and I was able to identify which set it was by flipping the first cards on the first two rows. I really should play mario 3
i was also underwhelmed by world after playing so much 3, but world has since really grown on me… i really like how full of secrets the world is, and slowly revealing more of it. being able to replay levels is part of the design here since there are lots of multiple exits, unlike mario 3 which are all straight obstacle courses for the most part.
3 still has better levels imo, but yah, i like the mystery world has. the problem is you can’t replay it too often since that’s the main draw (for me at least), so once you figure out all the puzzles regarding finding different exits, it doesn’t feel nearly as exciting
the high pitched sound for when it pops up should be one of my phone notifications
I love strange and wonderful things thank you
haven’t done a no warp run in a bit, I should do that since I have save states.also I need to remmeber I have this awesome anerbic that I do more with than get frustrated about wizardry
some day I’ll post about wizardry
NOT TODAY
oh it’s every 80k points? first two cards in first two rows trick still works why can I remember this but not that James woods was in san andreas
GIMMIE MY OTHER P WING
damnit now I’m curious
did you know about the coin collecting white p houses in mario three before I posted them
- yes
- no
they were removed in mario all-stars. having mostly played that version, when my friend had an NES and we were playing, he went to the coin house and i absolutely lost my shit
that’s wild! I never played mario all stars a lot cuz the graphics were hard to get used to after all that regular nintendo
meauxdal i looked it up everything says the coin house is in mario all stars
Guess im busting out the nes. Its so nice out i should put a tv on the porch
Not trying to be cool or edgy, but Super Mario 3 was one of my least favorites. At least when I was young. I should play through them all again and reassess.
this doesnt seem as bad to me now that ive seen mt shasta without snow
im gonna play through world to reassess i think yeah. but im starting with 3 cuz i do what i want
secret third option: I forgot about them until your post but also never knew the specific conditions to trigger them; just got them randomly sometimes
Mario 2 and Mario 3 are my favorite Mario games. The first one is all me the second one is from daphny showing me the way. Kuribo’s shoe ftw
ok two things
first i am talking about the coin airship which may or may not be the same thing but i am assuming it is
second i stand corrected it is absolutely in the all stars version

hmm. my friend was unphased by it at the time while my eyes were bugging out (this was like 30+ years ago, mind) and said he “knew how to get there” and he did mention the coin number thing. but i couldn’t get it to unlock and maybe it is because look at this damn reddit post about how there’s like 5 things that need to line up lol
this whole thing is a great example of the magic of the Nintendo I think though
the coin ship is a lot more SECRET it’s true. totally different to the coin houses tho
I first played Mario 2 on the Wii virtual console (lol) and was really impressed by the environments and shy guys. which is kind of awesome honestly considering what year it must’ve been. I wish I had nes as a kid I would’ve been pogging at those games like I did at the 80s crpgs I was playing instead. I would have gone insane for Jackal as a child
