I’ve occasionally appreciated when scanslations have taken some liberties with dialogue in manga that aren’t otherwise particularly good
Paper Bag-Kun Is In Love is one of the cuter things I’ve read lately.
what a beautiful duwang
read a bit more of vagabond and i have no idea how people are able to binge this but it’s still good and i’m enjoying it despite knowing that it will never be officially ’ done '. mal helped me find a manga called milkyway hitchhiking about a cat who warps through space time to travel to other planets and maybe dimensions i think. i haven’t started it yet but if i like it i’ll post some stuff here.
i immediately thought of something else i really liked by never finished which was ran to hairo no sekai / ran of the gray world. i’m hoping it’s in that similar vein of cute magical girl stuff without being cloying.
the other memegagthing i will always like
so glad you’re reading parasyte now, it rules
Thanks for recommending it, it’s great so far
started chainsaw man, currently on volume #3. i love how every character wears basketball sneakers, which, in my mind, places the work in the same realm as dorohedoro. it might be one of the all-time best comics, is what i’m saying
To me, chainsaw man and dorohedoro also share the combo of ultraviolence and surprisingly sweet relationships between some of the characters. Although, I think chainsaw man is probably a bit darker overall.
Don’t know if anyone here has read Yagami-kun Has No Friends, it’s one of the best comedy manga I’ve read in a while.
Part 4 is still my fave.
it’s a lot of dumb fun. I’m weirdly nostalgic for the first two parts though, which is weird because I didn’t read them that long ago. Maybe…3 or 4 years ago? Anyway I kept waiting for stands to show up and they never did, which somehow added to the experience lol
as a kind of celebration for the final chapter of chainsaw man part one? that officially drops tomorrow, i picked a handful of tatsuki fujimoto’s one-shot works to read.
that person really has a style that’s both really rustic and but also sweet and funny
that’s what i’m always saying, too
a cool thing about yogen no nayuta is you get to see the very lowkey obssesion with knifes and ridiculously ornate swords from chainsaw man but in a more direct way. magic as being able to materialize weapons and wielding arms at your command.
adding shikaku to my (increasingly long) list of characters / scenes in their work having to do with eyes, lack thereof and eyepatches. i feel moe towards the protagonist and the main guy
love is blind is so funny and cute. 4-komma level of goofiness all around and very intense
imouto no ane is just the absolute funniest and has the most manic energy to it (cw to a bunch of nudity, however)
lol
a multi-layered joke that goes between being very dark to just very strange in 40-something pages that, like all of their works, is played 100% straight. sasaki-kun stopped a bullet!
chainsaw man anime coming soon guess it’s time to read manga again
