Cringe tbh
I can really only speak to explorer, but you might like this deck (in explorer)
I wouldn’t say it’s an easy deck to play.
Also 35 rares
Edit: Urborg Tomb of Yawgmoth isnt in explorer yet so that can just be a swamp so 34 rares
I’m playing draft tomorrow for a friend’s birthday.
…
It’s Commander Draft.
(That just caused @Infernarl to snap a pencil over his thigh.)
So from the bottom you can see this is the black lotus that was used for the 8 1/2 by 11 giant version of the card that was included in scry magazine. The fact that this version is poker card sized means it’s a counterfeit.
making miguel mad has been one of my hobbies for over a decade now
The Clue crossover has been beneath my notice, but I’ll admit the “Wrench” card that has a tap-target ability – as in, literally rotating opponent’s cards - is pretty clever.
Two decades
I played Alchemy cuz I got some cards that looked cool…I don’t have many cards!!
I still don’t really know how to get good at this game are there any good resources for getting good at magic without spending money
do draft, save coins over a season for draft, draft like crazy and save gems for next season
no I refuse
I am still playing Magic the Gathering on my computer. I guess I have improved some. I have not played Alchemy in awhile, even though it has lots of cool skeletons. I mainly play Standard ranked until I get enough currency to do a draft. I got 7 wins in draft once and I don’t know how that happened. It was on my birthday though and it was a wonderful gift, I was very happy. After a point I think I’d usually have a winning record in draft but this Wilds of Eldraine thing they’ve had going the last week, I have been very bad at that. I keep trying to draft lots of rats and I do a very bad job of playing them. Last night I hit Mythic rank for March. I think this is just because I play a lot. I will take the top 100 placement though, I will enjoy it while it lasts, by the end of the month I’ll probably have 25% of the playerbase ranked ahead of me and that’s okay cuz ranked modes are dumb. I like getting packs of cards. Maybe I will try another format someday but I don’t wanna stress about finding even more cards for this damn game. I usually play “mono black” and I think it is “midrange” but maybe it isn’t. This community’s terminology is maybe even sillier than Dota’s but not as silly as Smash. I like black the most cuz it has the most ghoulies. I like blue the least because it seems many blue players take way too long playing out their turn and I am now knowledgeable enough about the game to know they ain’t doing shit. I am glad no one ever talks to me while I play this game online. I love this game even though I have many complaints. I will never go play it in person because I cannot afford it. Not even pauper. Maybe someday that will change. I kinda track how my recovery from illness is going based on my performance in this game. That is very silly but some days it was very hard to read things and do math, and now it’s not as hard as it was for the most part, so I win more. I love to win. I look forward to playing Magic the Gathering on my computer every day.
I’ve never gotten out of diamond
I really do think it’s just cuz I played a lot and my deck fucks up the aggro deck 2/3 of the players are using to climb the ladder, I think most of my Diamond 1 wins were people conceding on turn 2 cuz my bat snatched one of their enchantments
Any good resources on learning how to draft. I liked the look of the new card set and am looking to getting back into magic and actually learning how to play and actually make decks.
practice
knowing which cards in a set are draft-valuable can be learned without practicing but it’s dreary watching LSV go through 200 cards “B+, C, F, A-” in a Limited Resources episode. do it enough with real drafts and you’ll start to internalise the rules
then practicing so you can read which colours are open, and can adapt/be flexible
making decks is a completely different skillset. find decks you like and copy them
oh yeah if you’re playing MTGA then a tracker is essential for postgame analysis
Wizards announced they’re going to 50% crossover cards by volume… end of an era (of bothering to have a consistent IP).
It’s funco pops now.
Pokemon proved the card game isn’t needed
