If I recall correctly that discussion was the closest thing FF had to a two player mode
Iām very confused by the fine print at the bottom reading FOOTAGE CAPTURED ON PC
given that the trailer was just a logo reveal.
Man if you havenāt played Metroid Prime 2 have I got a treat for you, how about an entire poison swamp dimension!?!
BTW I hope you like the color purpleā¦
my first love!!
i do!!!
is echoes really as bad as everyone says
i should mention i actually didnāt like the first game that much either. well i loved it at first, but it got increasingly tedious the more i had to travel back and forth when i found new items (not to mention trying to remember where i could use them) and then the ghosts showed up, the biggest waste of playerās time in the history of games
(this is one of the reasons metroid 2 and fusion are my favourite metroid games, i hate having to travel all the way to the other side of the map after i get a new item just to get a new missile pack or trying to remember where i saw that one bit i couldnāt get to yet an hour earlier)
Back in the day I tried to play Metroid prime 1 with hud/map markers/etc turned off, and it was fine until a boss (Ridley?) flew away somewhere and I had no idea where to go, so ended my playthrough of Metroid prime 1
echoes is a nightmare scenario for this youāre good without it
echoes does sequential areas connected by a hub but it makes you backtrack to the hub midway through area 2 and back DEEP into area 2 midway through area 3 (mercifully you then open a shortcut elevator from 2ā3)
area 2 (torvus bog) has a couple of central rooms which redo the ghost thing with invisible space pirates, and lock the doors until you kill them each time you pass through.
thereās also two occasions where an extremely frustrating boss is placed after a tedious puzzle section or unskippable cutscene, both of which CUT OFF your access to the previous save point. if you play at all, make liberal use of save states.
Okay the trailer looks like the Megadrive version but the ending says āthis is a Columbus Circle original product and not endorse or licensed by Sega.ā
Wardner is a cursed game btw
only if they make separate jump and attack buttons
I have often described Metroid Prime 2 as a game that should be studied by game dev students as it is made mostly of the same parts as Prime 1 (a rather good game many consider to be a classic) yet is barely even good itself. If you can figure out the whys of that you should be in a good spot moving forward.
(Donāt ever try and count the different locks and keys in MP2, it leads to madness).
MP2 is my favourite Metroid game and I generally dislike 2D Metroids. I find them dull to play. Intellectually I understand that the design of Echoes is probably worse on the whole but I feel it hits the mission statement of exploring hostile alien world better than any of them.
I have a softspot for Metroid 2 but the final stretch and stinginess of health drops means that tedious backtracking is essential and very difficult even with save states.
I will almost certainly continue to repurchase and replay Beyond Good and Evil each time they fix it up for a more modern platform.
A little wary of the part where theyāre replacing some or all of the soundtrack with an orchestral version, though. That sort of thing might be better as a separate album outside the game.
I paid real american dollars for fighting force. I canāt imagine there are more than a few of us. who is this for
iām an Agon Wastes appreciator. the new Dune movies shouldāve had more in common with this aesthetic
if yāall want a klonoa-like, check out Cat in the Hat on PS2!
(Seriously, itās Klonoa clone. Yes, itās also based on the Mike Myers movie)
