The Thing has a really good videogame shotty… that’s about the only interesting thing about it.

I first heard of UF050 because Keita Takahashi was supposed to have a game in it but it looks like that’s not even true? How else have video games lied to me?

as far as i can tell, Keita is not particularly good at managing projects but keeps doing it because the alternative is more annoying to him

I wasn’t particularly good at it, and it sorta ran like crap on the PC I had at the time, but I sure liked the original.
Remember getting into a discussion about the controls in the original with a person on a set of forums a lifetime ago. They were saying they felt like the controls were really sloppy and that the avatar was really hard to control. I pointed out that what they were seeing was that everything had (more-or-less) a 100% commitment and that when you hit the button(s) to do a thing, you were going to just do it. They played a bit after I pointed that out and it clicked for 'em and they enjoyed it.
Not really evangelizing the original, but it was fun being like “Hey, here’s the bit you’re missing, go ahead and try it out with this in mind and see if it works for you,” and it payed off.

this was on the future game show stream. i’ve known of this developer (Celery Emblem) for awhile and own a couple of their games, tho haven’t gone very deeply into them because they do seem like kind of a mess to play. so maybe check out at your own risk if it does seem interesting. feel like someone here would be interested though. and apparently it’s already out?
