an Annapurna published game i haven’t heard of that i might… actually be interested in? no idea what this is but i saw Sam Barlow tweeting about it a lot and it’s out today. appears to be some sort of puzzle game by the company that made Sayonara Wild Hearts

I always confuse this game for that one Killer7-like that’s in development.

This always seemed like a game you’d buy because you’re into the vibe more than any actual gameplay you see in the trailer, but that trailer’s vibe is very different from the one way back. I’m sure they’re both accurate, but I think the old one is more intriguing. Don’t think that piano track is doing much for me.

As the title suggests, light and dark is a major part of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ stealth systems. A new global illumination system creates dynamic light and shadows that affect enemy vision. You can now hide in shadows and even create darkness by destroying lanterns or killing torch carriers. A light meter on the UI shows how well concealed you are, from fully visible to completely hidden.

That’s pretty cool actually. This is basically Splinter Cell.

Hiding in Shadows stealth is dumb, and bad. The novel thing AC1 did was try to implement social stealth, but Hitman has blown way past AC in developing that. The last novel thing AC did with stealth was in Brotherhood, when you could sic your gang on dudes, and as soon as you triggered the ability it would turn out that civilians wandering around onscreen were actually your bros in disguise.

I would be surprised if this feature made a significant or meaningful impact on the experience of play. These things r so Maddenified…simultaneously the same basic experience as the 2nd game but w/ accumulated cruft-systems that ensure the game never stops being a tutorial.
