Left 4 Dead but vampires I think it was
More accurately it was Borderlands 3 with less coherent weapon stats, a dubiously functional stealth system, a broken network infrastructure when only a few thousand people were playing, and significant graphical issues on all hardware. Of its 3 or 4 enemy types 2 of them had the ability to just stop taking damage for awhile, and the dialogue in the game was written with the expectation that you were going to skip all of it.
I heard the notes you find scattered around were well written though.
Oh, and it was the first US$70 game.

It didnât help that it was a game that launched with like half the vampires t-posing (Dragon Ball taught us all this is lethal to vampires), and had a heavy emphasis on sneaking but no stealth kills or attacks?

I think the best way to run a studio owned by one of these mega corps is to just never release anything. theyâll kind of forget about you while you bounce ideas around and make promises and move the chairs around, because no one gives a shit. once you ship you donât need employees, so you get layoffs. then they look at the sales numbers and youâre done if they donât see fortnite or some shit. release a game that isnât part of a 30 year old series or a Cross Universe Cinematic IP Experience? no fucking way, thatâs illegal. Iâm keeping my head down if Iâm whoever the fuck is running id these days.

I stumbled upon this today and it appears to not have been mentioned on SB already but there is a new Droqen & friends (Pancelor and Gabe) ânonlinear indie pixel art platformer metroidvaniaâ seemingly coming out later this year?
Seems to be a game that gives you a ton of powers and lets you use them to smash the game world as you see fit, not sure if itâll reach Strawberry Cubes levels of madness but I am intrigued.

On the one hand, I think if Xbox hadnât bought Bethesda theyâd probably have also shut down Arkane and Tango years ago (and probably even Machine Games, I donât think any of those new WOLF3D games made much money). But on the other hand, what da fuck Microsoft you coulda bought 60 Arkanes withe the money you spent on fish!! Anyway video games are dead.
