Poor Tango, they felt like a studio that was still primarily making B-tier weirdness so it’s not totally surprising but also sucks.

I really wanted to want to try hi fi rush but every single video I saw gave me the strong impression that they just… didn’t make enough assets for that game. like the budget was 10% too small to not just set the whole thing in a tiny arena. never got past that

I have this Brand New in Box Xbox Series S and I feel like I’m probably just going to trade it and my Switch Lite for whatever successor system they release (presumably) next year

im still gonna argue for the series s being the only current gen console worth it.
even if redfall was shit, it feels so stupid getting rid of these b tier studios when xbox is counting on gamepass as it’s big value proposition. these are the exact sort of games they need on a regular cadence to keep people subbed.

I agree with your assessment but Lifestyle Changes have basically made me a purely on-the-go gamer (even within the confines of my house) for the foreseeable future.

I mean I think most of what we’re seeing is that this heavily subsidized subscription model is simply not letting people ship good and interesting games on a consistent basis at all. it’s just swelling up the ranks of mediocre overproduced indies and everything else gets fucked

It’s really good! Though the budget is so low it is one of the most recurring gags in the game that budget constraints become a part of the plot.

Love that Phil Spencer was out there four years ago going on about how the Xbox One generation was the worst possible generation to lose, since everyone had established their digital libraries to carry forward next gen, and that the Series S/X would be their attempt to rebuild that trust. Welp!!
I wonder if they’re gonna refund people who bought the fancy edition of Redfall or just like, offer them a free download of Fusion Frenzy and Voodoo Vince.

Hi-Fi Rush felt like a step in a direction of “ok, i’ll pay attention to this team, now.” Ghostwire wasn’t amazing, but it had something there - you could see some element of uniqueness within it.
