Every sequel to an indie darling should look like Nidhogg 2.

huh this actually looks pretty cool! nice clean graphics and heavy, medium-speed action. this is like the first time i’ve been interested in a prince of persia game.

having looked closer it seems to have been hamstringed by being a rogue-like; the level/encounter design in particular is very lackluster. but all the contemporary roguelite trappings are there as well (i love getting a weapon that does +2 damage!).

sigh.

Pretty sure it’s from the Dead Cells team, so it checks out.

(You oughta look into Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, though, that game was great)

wait these are the same people who just closed Crop Circle and then replaced their website with a text post from the ceo?? in which she speculates about the contents of the… same upcoming kotaku article?

I got a text this afternoon that Ethan Gach of Kotaku is writing an article about the closure of Crop Circle Games, one of the four studios under my care as the former CEO and owner of Prytania Media. Mr. Gach has not contacted me about his article nor confirmed details in his article with me, which is surprising considering the fact that I was CEO of this company for two years and retain majority ownership.

I stepped down as CEO this winter on a medical leave and while I don’t know the content of Mr. Gach’s article, I have no assurances that my personal health struggles as a rare female game industry CEO will not be covered in his article.

The thought of a random man I have never met talking about my personal health — my body — in a public forum without my consent is so ghastly to me that I’m now choosing to share before he does that I have multiple sclerosis.

the possibility space article stating they met with a publishing partner the same day makes me wonder if they were looking for hail mary funding, failed to find it, were already up 2 shady labor practices, and figured they might as well use the other shoe dropping as an excuse 2 ditch & run

You know I clocked that Stellar Blade was a blatant Nier Automata rippoff but I was frankly shocked by how blatant. The organic space blimps are really cool looking though.

family/action movie stunt casting these days seems insanely lucrative if you managed to become famous 20 years ago

like you’re basically hired to show up and play yourself in 2 massive successful kids movies a year

I think this is probably the real legacy of disney/marvel synergy, like now instead of getting eg albert brooks one big payday for finding nemo it’s a constant thing

Are we gonna get Rouge The Bat too? The cast of Knuckles Chaotix? Or some characters from the GBA series?

Always kind of bothered me that there’s a ton of characters in Sonic but there seems to be a core group and the rest can never seem to stick around.
