Tender Claws wound up making a Stranger Things Oculus game that came out like last month to no fanfare whatsoever after doing incredible interactive theater work with The Under Presents
it’s definitely not the only instance in the past few years of it being too apparent to consumers that this stuff is only happening because workers are moving to where the money is and the money is not going to be there for long, but it was an egregious one
It felt like Sony had abandoned it long before it came out because there was little advertising and little original content. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was partly a casualty of the leadership changes going on at Sony before it came out. But despite it supposedly selling really well out the gate (somehow), I don’t think that was enough to really get Sony to change course and get back on board. That said, I have no idea how this whole “Sony is working on PC combability for PSVR2” works because I don’t see why Sony would do something like that out of the goodness of their hearts but I also don’t see how that will make them any money.
I bought my PSVR2 to play RE8 Remake and RE7 Remake and it has handled that duty well.
“There is this stench of rot at the top of things where the reasons people get laid off is because of funding structures and bad incentives and stupidity,” said Adams, damning execs for firing people “that they shouldn’t fire because their company will fall apart, but I guess maybe that helps someone’s bottom line somewhere or gets the right air inside the right golden parachute.”
i think i’d want to mod out reticle bloom and fix the cone sizes if i ever played it again but only remedy games approach the incredulous laughter it got out of me
i’m excited to have what appears to be an uncompromised 3D obsidian rpg later this year in avowed but you know what brian eno would say about the jank
starting to get legit pumped for dragon’s dogma 2… wasn’t sure if I would
the vibe they’re going for is “the best PS3 game ever made” but it consequently looks like shit on all but the highest PC settings – you can really tell what platform they’re demoing it on in the videos, it makes a big difference, bold as it was to make a game that outwardly resembles “oblivion but good”… though knowing that it’s the DMC5 team making what’s essentially a glorified MT framework game (and capcom has been so solid in recent years) finally tipped me over to hype
it helps that I really want to play a game with meaty but not terribly exacting combat right now since I’m kind of burned out on having to play soulslikes well and DMC5 was actually right on the money in this department
