Let's just talk about Star Wars forever (Part 1)

i like that star wars lore has implicit “quest for the crystal” elements to it that are nevertheless only rarely directly addressed

I heard tale you can buy them in blind bags at the gift shop

What are kyber crystals if not magicite?

every star wars lego special ends up doing things that should just actually be canon it’s so weird. the halloween special is very cute. it’s funny how these lego things are like the only things after the end of the sequel trilogy to care about the sequel trilogy.

It’s smart, in how much kids really seem to like the sequel trilogy. So if you are actually aiming at kids, it’s a good place to start.

I used to limit my star wars obsession to only the live action movies, but now I’ve seen all three animated shows too. This Lego stuff is the only barrier between me and going full on into like comic books and high republic novels or whatever. I have to hold the line, my sanity depends on it

i’m big enough to admit i’d probably watch some amount of an ewoks reboot

I’d watch a movie length adaptation featuring the romance between the Spotted Jugadoo and C-3P0

The mostly red creature mistook C-3PO for a potential mate when the protocol droid tried to mimic its vocalizations in a ruse to protect his friends.

I’d also watch an entire cartoon about these freaks

so i finished star wars visions and ended up being basically like actively frustrated by how many of them would have worked as a better set up for a sequel trilogy than the actual sequels

i do think it’s weird how much all of them focused on kyber crystals and/or sith as wicked feudal lords. i mean the later is understandable because you can tell a ton of them really wanted to bring out just how much star wars owes to samurai movies, but the crystals thing is a bit more mysterious.

it felt like some lucasfilm exec was like “you can tell stories about anything in the star wars universe. for example, did you know that lightsabers have precious crystals inside them? maybe there’s something there, who knows” and everyone was just like “right. we should do cartoons about lightsaber crystals, got it.”

but anyway, i do appreciate how these are mostly stand alone and only vaguely canonical, but it still felt like they had more interesting ideas about how to move the story forward. i hope someone is taking notes. i have my own obsessive vision for how i would continue the series but i’m going to wait until i don’t have anything else i should be doing to indulge my inner fan fiction writer and write like a 20,000 word post about it. but i was surprised to see some of the things ive daydreamed about show up in some of these.

Well as long as the star doesn’t have to move much or act.

Real Marlon Brando Hours.

Still bitterly disappointed that Boba isn’t a long-haired bishie under that mask.

Would be best if he was a blob of tapioca starch under there

gotta say … this looks pretty boring. i mean i’ll still watch it but my expectations are super low.

The animation of the spider at the start is driving me nuts. It has absolutely zero weight to it, like it’s the size of a tarantula instead of a small car like it should be.

i do wonder if that shot indicates that they are actually going to put some of the absolutely ridiculous backstory to those creatures on screen in this. i don’t know if the world is ready for it though

Isn’t that one of those spiders that poops out drugs?

no they’re the weird transhumanist cult that gets their brains sucked out and put into spiders! they are the ones who used to live in jabbas palace before he took it over, but he let them stick around because he liked how edgy they were

I’m really surprised at how they’re fumbling TV Star Wars after marathoning Clone Wars and Rebels a year ago. I guess they no longer have the creative freedom afforded by… Disney XD.
